At the Crossroads: The Future of Fracking in Mexico
Shale industry in the U.S. is booming. It propelled the country to become the world’s top oil and gas producer and a net energy exporter. And Mexico is a major destination for those U.S. energy exports. This is despite the fact that Mexico is abundant in shale resources and shares some of the prolific shale geology with the U.S. This presentation explores why this is the case and what the prospects of shale exploration in Mexico are compared to the U.S. as well as countries in Europe, such as Poland, where despite high initial hopes shale exploration brought no commercial results and has now been largely abandoned.
