PetConnect Rescue Family,
Happy 2019! The new year always brings renewed energy and enthusiasm toward our mission of saving cats and dogs from desperate situations. There is something about a fresh start that fosters optimism about what's possible. And we already have two pieces of news to share that have PetConnect Rescue off to a great beginning for 2019.
First is our leadership news! Katie Buckner, one of our great cat adoption coordinators, and France Bognon, one of our great dog adoption coordinators, have been elected as co-presidents of the PetConnect Board of Directors. Katie and France will be taking the reins from our previous amazing board co-presidents, founder Lizette Chanock and Barb Kertess. Our new dynamic duo brings a level of enthusiasm and experience that has us excited about the coming year.
Second, PetConnect is proud to have two of our rescue dogs appearing in Animal Planet's Dog Bowl II! The irrepressible Iggy, an adorable Shih Tzu mix, and the oh-so-handsome Timmy, a senior Pomeranian, did us proud as they took their star turns with Team Oldies to promote animal rescue. Be sure to tune in Feb. 2nd to see their on-field antics!
We are looking forward to a fabulous year, and your help and support continue to make our work possible. If you've been toying with the idea of getting more involved, now is the perfect time. See below for all the ways you can help make a difference. There is truly something for everyone at PetConnect Rescue.

Is your New Years resolution to get passionate about a cause?
Are you ready to make a difference? We need you!
Did you know that PetConnect Rescue is mostly volunteer run?
That's right. PCR has a small staff to coordinate paperwork, oversee adoptions, run our social and fundraising events and care for Muddy Paws Farm, but mostly, our volunteers are the ones that work to place our animals. And they need your help. If your New Years resolution is to get more involved in a cause, we've got a job for you.
Volunteer opportunities:
- Foster
- Work adoption events
- Transport dogs and cats
- Help at Muddy Paws Farm or at the Hadorn Cottage for Senior Dogs.
- Pick up and deliver supplies
- Conduct home visits
- Call vet offices
- Help with fundraising
- Create raffle baskets
- Teach kids humane education
- Start a blog
- Use your graphic design or video making skills to help us promote PCR

Hi everyone, I'm Bear. Weighing in at a cool 85 pounds, I'm what they call "gorgeous". Seriously, these baby blues get me a lot of what I want, except the thing I want most...a forever home. I'm 4 years old and full of personality. I love to play with other dogs and with my people (but not cats, sorry, not sorry). Because I'm so playful, I need a fenced yard to romp around in. Meow everyone, I'm Celeste. I'm happy to be out of the shelter and settling into my new foster home. My foster dad has been so sweet to me showing me how wonderful it feels to be loved. People say I'm the perfect age...not a rambunctious kitten but still very playful. I'm looking for a new home with or without other cat friends and one where I can have my very own laser pointer.
