TUESDAY, JANUARY 15, 2018
  • 2019 Woodland Track and Field parent meeting will be held Tues., Jan. 15 at 6 p.m. in the Woodland cafeteria. All parents with students on the track team need to attend. Please contact Coach Large at [email protected] if you have questions.
  • There will be no school Mon., Jan. 21 for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
  • Please note the following CAP dates for FHS and WJHS:

Feb. 5:    Bulldog Bash field trip to FHS from 8:45-11:45
Feb. 5:    FHS staff will be at Woodland after lunch to help students select courses
Feb. 6:    FHS Parent Info Night from 5:30-6:30

               -rising 9th-12th ELL session in the Blackbox
Feb. 7:    Pick-A-Time open to schedule conferences (closes at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 27)

  • Below is a link for the 2019 FPS sports tryout dates and requirements for next school year's 2019-20 teams. Please note that ALL students participating in a tryout will need a current physical.
 

  • Congratulations to the following students for making All Region Band this past weekend: Maggie Moses, Rebekah Nelson, Safija Siering, Sarah Albertso, Logan Richards, Olivia McGinnis, Abi Minor, Abby Allison, and Lily Pierce. We also had two 7th grade begginers, Aika Nakanishi and Keming Meng, make All Region Band which is an extremely high honor. They will be performing with their honor band next Saturday at Springdale High School. 
  • Rising 9th graders interested in being in the award-winning FHS choirs should come to the choir room before or after school on Tues., Jan. 22 for a short audition. Students who are already in choir will audition during their class period.
  • Congratulations to the Woodland Quiz Bowl Team! They placed 1st in last weekend's NWAESC Tournament! 8th grader Janet Fu was the high point scorer!
Mr. Young Honored as Hometown Hero

Congratulations to Woodland's own award-winning journalism teacher Mr. Andrew Young for being honored as a Hometown Hero at last weekend's Razarback basketball game.

Choir will Sing National Anthem at Upcoming Razorback Game

Woodland Choir students will sing the national anthem Tues., Jan. 29 before the Arkansas Razorbacks take on the Georgia Bulldogs at 6 p.m. Student tickets will be purchased together by the Woodland Choir. Students will need to bring $15 to pay for their ticket and t-shirt NO LATER THAN FRI., JAN. 11. Students will be expected to be at Bud Walton Arena no later than 5 p.m. and will be free to leave with their guardians at any point after the performance. Since this is an optional event, no transportation is provided.

Attendance Policy Changes
In accordance with district policy, the following changes will occur in  attendance documentation  starting January 2019. For each semester, every student is allowed 5 Parent Contacts (PC) without documentation of any kind. All absences after the 5th PC will be recorded as an Unexcused Absence (U) unless the absence falls into a category listed in  District Policy   For any absence, please provide documentation whenever possible as we are working to support you and your student.

Free Tutoring Available

Woodland is offering free tutoring Mondays and Thursdays before school from 7:30-8:15 and after school from 3:45-4:30.

While transportation will not be provided, snacks will be available and free admission to HOME basketball games on dates that tutoring is available.
