As part of our continued relationship with the Robert H. Smith School of Business at University
of Maryland, we are glad to announce that Ms. Tasnim Benalla and Ms. Esra Mohammed have accepted spring internships. Both are majoring in Finance. In addition, Tasnim has extensively volunteered to aid Syrian refugees, and Esra is active in the University's Women in Business Association. Please join us in welcoming them.
The recently passed Tax Cut and Jobs Act of 2017 presents many changes to the tax code. Higher earning residents of higher tax states (like those in the Washington DC area where we are located) may not see as much of a benefit as taxpayers in other areas. Many areas of the Code have been impacted such as moving expenses, home office, business travel, job search, casualty and theft losses, mortgage interest, and state and local taxes. These last two adjustments may be particularly costly for higher earners. We have been addressing some of the changes in the Bill and are happy to discuss with you. Look for further discussion this Sunday at 8:30 on FOX5's "On The Hill."
