Program:
San Francisco has almost 1,000 children in foster care and they need our support. Opening your heart to a foster child can be an amazingly rewarding experience. Our presenters will tell you more about how you and your faith communities can make a difference in a child's life.
Presenters: The Rev. Rebecca Edwards is one of the co-founders of Braid Mission, a ministry that builds community around youth in foster care through intergenerational mentor teams. Barrett Johnson and Sophia Isom are both Program Directors at the San Francisco Human Services Agency's Family and Children's Services. Barrett is in charge of Program Development, which includes engaging with community partners to improve and expand the agency's services. Sophia provides leadership for foster/resource parent recruitment and approval, as well as adoptions and permanency programs.
