In addition, Nereyda Varias will be back for a limited time with a  restorative yoga class,  Thursday, March 28, April 11, and 25 at 4:30 p.m. (note time change for this class.)   Both classes meet in Hinde Hall - a $5.00 donation is requested.

Lenten Book Drive
Benefits Episcopal Community Services
kids_reading_book.jpg
Support the Lenten Book Drive for Head Start
2,000 children are enrolled in Episcopal Community Service's  Head Start program. Because reading is so fundamental to healthy child development, the earlier books are placed in the hands of children the better.

Our goal is $5,000 to purchase books for infants through children four years of age. We are less than halfway to our goal and so the push is on.   You may donate online  or look for the book-bedecked table  after church services, in the courtyard, throughout Lent.

Sunday Forums in Lent
Mary, Our Lenten Companion
Sundays - 9:00 a.m. Hinde Hall
The season of Lent invites those who choose an intentional journey, a journey which brings us closer to the heart of God. What better companion than Mary of Nazareth who is recognized as Theotokos, the God-bearer. Mary lived life as it came to her with no more surety than we have but who, regardless, went on in faith. Our Lenten forums will reflect upon Mary as people have seen her and named her over the ages and who accompanies us along the way in our own day.

Walk the Labyrinth
Wednesdays 4:00-8:00 p.m.
A labyrinth is an ancient symbol that relates to wholeness. It combines the imagery of the circle and the spiral into a meandering but purposeful path. The Labyrinth represents a journey to our own center and back again out into the world. Labyrinths have long been used as meditation and prayer tools. Bring a friend to join you in this holy practice.

Stations of the Cross
Led by the Daughters of the King
Stations of the Cross during Lent
The Stations of the Cross is a Lenten devotion that offers witness to Jesus' Passion and Death. At each station we use our senses and our imagination to reflect prayerfully upon Jesus' suffering, Death, and Resurrection, and to simply experience the visual images to reflect on Christ's love for us. All are welcome, Wednesday evenings in Lent at 6:15 p.m. in the church

If you wish to make a donation, the easiest way is to pay online by credit card - please note in the memo line for whom the flowers are given.

Donation forms are also available at the Welcome Center and in the parish office. Please submit your donations no later than Wednesday, April 10 to ensure that the information will appear in our Easter bulletins.

Tickets will be on sale in the courtyard after services, April 14, 21, and 28. The cost is only $10 for a delicious Mexican meal; margaritas will be available for an extra donation. Food Collection - St. Mark's
Neighborhood Food Pantry
oatmeal package
April is cereal/oatmeal
St. Mark's has designated a specific food item for collection each month this year. March is canned protein (tuna, salmon, chicken). This could include single serving containers. April's food items are cereal and oatmeal. Low sugar varieties are best.

You may access the entire year's list on St. Mark's Outreach page. Of course, basic non-perishable items are always needed such as: soup/stews, cereal and oatmeal, granola bars, peanut butter, pasta and sauce, rice, canned protein, canned vegetables and fruit, and single serve items for their unhoused visitors. Bring your contributions on Sundays or to the parish office Monday-Thursday.

Via Crucis: Called to the Wall
Saturday, April 13
Travel in solidarity
Join this service to lament the plight of immigrants. Episcopalians from the dioceses of San Diego and Los Angeles will travel in solidarity with immigrants along the Way of the Cross, a service of 14 stations commemorating Jesus' walk to his crucifixion. A joint Eucharist on both sides of the border fence, with Anglicans present in the US and Mexico, strengthens connections across international divides. The purpose of the event is to share concerns about immigration policies and practices, and to demonstrate shared desire for immigration reform.  Learn more....
