3-4 drops of lavender essential oil (optional - any favorite scent will work)
½ cup soft coconut oil (not melted, but not rock hard - room temperature)

Cucumber Salad with Lemon Poppyseed Dressing - Light and fresh, this simple dish is the perfect springtime treat.

Ingredients:
1 mason jar
¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
1 tsp sugar of choice
2 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 ½ tsp poppy seeds
A pinch of salt and pepper
1 long English cucumber, sliced

Directions: Add ingredients (except cucumber) to a mason jar with secure lid or blender and shake/blend until ingredients emulsify. Pour over cucumber slices and mix so dressing coats slices evenly. Serve with a meal of choice - or enjoy by itself!

Laura Angelone -Paris/LA

Parisian digital media strategist, fashion blogger, mother and self-proclaimed French cliché  (she can't live without a good baguette) - Laura Angelone wears a lot of hats these days. Currently living in LA, the French muse shares a few of her style notes, including how to look effortlessly chic (versus undone), and how to channel your inner confidence.

She believes that being a mother does not mean that she's only a mother. She says that it's important to make time to work out, get a manicure (some great lemon tips here) go shopping, wear pretty lingerie... anything that makes one feel beautiful.  She notes that "when you feel good in your skin, you're in touch with who you are as a woman, which is also the secret to keeping the romance alive".

Shaney Vuendranath - South Africa

Shan is the Co-Founder and CEO of You, Baby and I, a parenting and lifestyle blog, and Momsays (An analytics platform that connects brands to moms). She's based in Johannesburg and is married to Vije and mom to Kitana, Kiaan, and Kirav.

She says that she and Vije are best friends and business partners (Vije is currently building a startup called Tapsnapp). She also said that becoming a first-time mom was exciting but overwhelming - she thought she had everything figured out (and loves her to-do lists) but realized that she didn't and noted that a list wasn't enough. She needed support and a group of women who understood her emotions and frustrations. She shares her experiences with others to help them navigate the challenges ahead.

She, her almost-hubby and their two kids are attempting to live the slow life in a beachside suburb on the east coast of Australia and explains that a lot of her parenting thoughts are Montessori inspired.  Barbara's got great style savvy, a rickety house (her words), pet chickens and barefoot kids and is living the life she wants.

Limoneira Spring Salad Sampling at Market Basket in Massachusets

What could be more healthy and delicious than a fresh spring salad as an entry or side dish? Limoneira lemons provide just the right fresh "zing" for these salads which will be sampled at Market Basket Stores in May. If you're in Limoneira's Massachusets network, be on the lookout for social market promotions and information.

About Market Basket

In 1917, Greek immigrants Athanasios ("Arthur") and Efrosini Demoulas opened DeMoulas Market, a grocery store in the Acre neighborhood of Lowell, Massachusetts that specialized in fresh lamb.
In their 2017 ratings, Consumer Reports ranked Market Basket at #2 among national supermarkets, second only to Wegmans.  Market Basket currently operates 79 stores in three states - 49 locations in its home state of Massachusetts, 29 stores in New Hampshire, and a single store in Maine. The chain's footprint has expanded greatly in the past 15 years, and now encompasses an area stretching along the New England coastline from Cape Cod to southern Maine, to as far west as the Vermont and Rhode Island state lines.

AssociatesIntegrated Pest Management an Important Sustainability Component

Limoneira created the first private insectary in California (established in 1917) and Limoneira maintains a complete Integrated Pest Management (IPM) system to bring sustainably-grown products to market and reduce the use of pesticides. Today Limoneira is part of Associates Insectary a grower-owned cooperative which is focused on providing beneficial insect releases.   The Insectary was originally established to raise the ladybird beetle, Cryptolaemus montrouzieri, in order to help in the fight the Citrophilus mealybug, which decimated Ventura County citrus groves in the 1920's. AI has over 50,000 sq. ft. of rearing space at their five-acre facility and are the sole producer of the "Mealybug Destroyer" beetle in North America. They are also the leading producer of the red scale parasite, Aphytis melinus, and the predatory mite, N. Californicus, in the United States.

Their dedicated and highly experienced beneficial Insect rearing technicians are skilled in the "art of mass-rearing" beneficial organisms. These artisan specialists work seven days a week, 365 days a year to raise fresh and highly effective beneficials for their grower-members and rear almost a billion beneficials each year that are utilized around the globe.

EngelsAmbassador Karie Engels - Seattle WA

Karie Engles lives in the Seattle area and is the founder and publisher Basil & Salt Magazine
She's an  Amazon Influencer, LinkedIn Advisor. Mom of the amazing three.

She believes in living out loud and her wonderful Chilled Summer Sips Lemonade and Martini recipes follow:

Karie says she couldn't imagine a hot summer afternoon without the noise of sprinklers and a pitcher of lemonade. As I was making a batch this morning I could hear the screech of little ones running through my neighbor's wet lawn as they inched closer and closer to the spray. Memories flitted here and there as I rolled and squeezed lemons.

As summer approaches she says meals are all cooked outdoors and as grills cool, evening breezes gently kiss our skin while we sit on the porch sipping chilled beverages.

The recipe below is basic and can be adjusted to taste. I add a sprig of basil and lemons for garnish and occasionally, wink-wink, whip up a delicious lemon-basil martini.

Simple Lemonade

Ingredients
5 cups water divided, 1 cup and 4 cups
1 cup sugar
6-9 Limoneira lemons, depending on size and taste preference
ice

Simple Syrup

Combine sugar and 1 cup of water in small saucepan. Simple syrup ratio is always 1 to 1. Bring to a light simmer over low heat. When sugar is completely dissolved, remove from heat and cool.
Release the Juice  Roll lemons over counter top or cutting board to release juices, cut in half and squeeze. You are looking for about one cup, however, you may wish to increase or decrease depending on personal preference.

Creat your Potion  Add cooled syrup, lemon juice and 4 cups of water in that order to pitcher. Stir well and add ice. Use additional lemon wedges and pieces to garnish.

Simple Lemon-Basil Martini

Using your pitcher of lemonade, add the following items.

Ingredients
1-ounce gin or vodka
Lemonade from recipe above
Juice of one Limoneira lemon
Fresh basil
Method

In a cocktail shaker, muddle two basil leaves with a bit of lemonade. Add ice 1 ounce of gin or vodka, the juice of one lemon and shake well. Strain into a chilled martini glass, top with lemonade and garnish with a sprig of basil.
