RETAILERS, STAY CONNECTED WITH DCI!
We at DCI understand that keeping up with emails and announcements can be difficult at times due to busy stores and peak seasons. Below is a breakdown to understand where you can access DCI related content and news.
Email Campaigns
Breaking news, industry announcements, new agreements and power buy/opportunity buys are always sent out through email. This allows us to target our communication by location, type of store, and relevancy as well as give us detailed reporting on who is opening the announcements, which links they have clicked on and where to allocate our efforts for outreach if members haven't opened up these communications.

We strongly encourage you to dedicate a member of your management team to be your communications liaison for your company, especially for those owners who tend to be super busy and don't check their emails daily. You could be missing incredible buying opportunities, programs, or helpful industry tips to better the success of your company.

Please email Matthew Brown to see which members of your company currently receive our communications (we segment by multiple lists, so be sure touch base with Matthew if you aren't aware as to who is receiving which communications).
Social Media
Only have a couple of minutes? Check out the DCI Social media pages on Facebook , Twitter and LinkedIn . Major public announcements are always posted on our social media and you can often find other industry bits of information shared on our pages.
DCI Intranet Portal
By logging into the portal, you will get access to your company's rebate reports. As well, any important announcements regarding changes in agreements will also be posted internally on the portal.

What else does the portal provide?
  • new supplier partner agreements
  • new programs/promotions
  • revised supplier partner agreements and rebate scales
  • your shareholder reports
  • the DCI by-laws
  • archived newsletters
  • summary of volume rebates
  • AGM information

If you don't have login credentials to access the Intranet Portal, click here to email Michele at DCI.

Once you've checked the portal for information and still don't see what you are looking for, please email or call the DCI office with your inquiry.

Please note: the DCI Intranet Portal is for Retailers only .
DCI Live!
Launching within the first quarter of 2020 (with Retailer participation), 'DCI Live!' is a new communication tool with notifications sent directly to your phone in real time! It also allows for a chat room based platform where Retailers will be able to share feedback, success stories, compare and contrast programs, and receive instant news such as product recalls and clearance opportunities.

There will be special Power Buys and Seasonal opportunities that will exclusively be presented on this platform, as well as discussion on group purchasing volume, and meeting volume rebate brackets, which in turn allows us to create growth in sales and see stronger, more effective Supplier Partner agreements. This tool is completely free to sign up and use.

Look out for the initial communication for signing up!

FROM OUR SUPPLIER PARTNERS
Maple Leaf Foods is Carbon Neutral Now
First major food company in the world to become carbon neutral.

Maple Leaf Foods has taken a massive step forward on its sustainability journey as the first major food company in the world to become carbon neutral.

For years, we’ve been working to reduce our environmental footprint by 50 per cent by 2025. But, the urgency of the climate crisis has compelled us to act and become carbon neutral now. “There is simply no more time to waste,” said Michael McCain, President and CEO. “Climate change’s devastating impact on our planet must be confronted head-on by business leaders and it must be done now.”

We recognize that creating nutrient-dense, animal and plant-protein products like ours consumes natural resources and, like all businesses, we generate emissions. Since 2015, we have made great progress in  reducing our environmental footprint . We’ve reduced our electricity use by 86 million kWh – equal to taking 12,912 cars off the road for a year. We’ve reduced our water consumption by 1.2 billion litres – equal to 480 Olympic-size swimming pools.
But, we have decided to go further.

We have doubled down on our commitment to reduce our emissions by adopting a new, more ambitious  Science Based Targets  through 2030. These are globally respected emission reduction targets aligned with the goals of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change and are approved by the Science Based Target Initiative. This commitment makes us the first major food company in Canada to set Science Based Targets. And, one of only three animal protein companies in the world to set these targets.

We are also investing in high-impact  environmental projects  throughout Canada and United States to neutralize our remaining and currently unavoidable emissions. These projects support green wind energy, recovery of methane gas for energy from landfills, energy efficiency programs, composting and biomass projects, and forest protection and re-forestry that also support species-protection and bio-diversity.

Climate change is a serious, global problem and we are committed not just to words, but to actions that will benefit our communities and ensure a brighter future for generations to come. We are on our journey to be the most sustainable protein company on earth!

Online Grocery Shopping ... Ready to Explode?

"Fewer people are filling their fridges at supermarkets and grocers can’t ignore that trend, Carter says. They are trying to lure shoppers through doors with artisanal offerings, in-store demonstrations and celebrity chef visits, but some people just want to shop from their couch, office or car."
