IGC Seminar Reflection Series: Interdisciplinary Orgs. & Research

BY BEN KLIGMAN, JENNIE WAGNER Many of the most pressing environmental challenges cannot be solved by individual scientists or single academic disciplines. Challenges such as climate change, developing alternative energy sources, and land use management require teams of scientists from multiple disciplines to collaborate to achieve a common goal.

Crowdsourcing Campaign for
The Mayapple School
The Mayapple School offers creative, place-based pre-school education for children in the New River Valley. Their innovative classroom offers a vibrant environment for  project based learning , process art experiences,  nature explorations , rich story times, and intentional dramatic play opportunities. The school is seeking community support for their relocation from Newport in Giles County due to the path of the Mountain Valley Pipeline. More information about their fundraising campaign and story is available on the Go Fund Me page.
