Lynda Carr: Peterborough
It is often said that everything that is old is new again. Lynda Carr has held this philosophy from a very early age. Always intrigued and inspired by vintage items like architecture, clothing, furniture, jewellery, Lynda took this attitude and applied it to her wonderful art. What many see as old and tarnished silver serving platters, bread plates, butter dishes and trivets, Lynda sees as new and shiny rings, bracelets, brooches, and necklaces.

Karen Franzen: Port Perry
My inspirations come from beautifully designed textiles, the sunny warm colours of the Mediterranean, and painters who celebrate colour - Paul Cézanne, Paul Klee, Hundertwasser, Georgia O'Keeffe and Fred Franzen (my dad) to name a few. Sunflowers are a recurring theme in my work. Their large yellow heads will turn to follow the light of the sun and having witnessed vast fields of them I am struck by their eerie beauty.

SPARK Photo Festival 2019
META4 Gallery Peterborough is proud to host a featured exhibit as part of this year's SPARK Photo Festival. We welcome photographer Christopher Thorpe and his exhibition "Curves". Christopher paints on canvas that is giclee printed with his photographic compositions. His subject is crows in the rural environment. By merging multiple photographs, he is able to generate multiple vanishing points, thus matching how our two horizontal eyes scan the landscape.
The crows are painted on the canvas.
