Transatlantic Cluster Initiative: Industry 4.0Industry4
  
The  German American Chamber of Commerce is partnering with mHUB, University of Illinois, and CMMC to launch a  Transatlantic Cluster Initiative on Industry 4.0 that will explore  the digitization of the manufacturing sector through a variety of content-driven encounters in Chicago and Germany.

The initiative begins with a  Roadshow on Industry 4.0 in the US (Feb. 26-Mar. 2), which will include a reception at mHUB on March 1. In May, 15 participants representing a cross section of business, economic development, and academic leaders will travel on a  Delegation Trip to Germany (May 14-18) for opportunities to speak to key Industry 4.0 players from business and research institutions, and visit manufacturers that have integrated Industry 4.0 into their operations.

CMMC partner Manufacturing Renaissance has taken the lead on drafting an industrial policy for our region, contributing to similar discussions at the state and national level. Industrial policy, a strategic effort to encourage the development and growth of the manufacturing sector, can provide a framework for very specific goals and how to achieve them. Manufacturing Renaissance has committed to social inclusion and community development and wants to hear your thoughts about what our regional industrial policy should be.
