Happy New Year Tulita Families!
I hope everyone had a wonderful, relaxing winter break with their families. It is hard to believe how quickly the first part of the school year has flown by and we are now into 2020! I would like to thank everyone who donated to Project Unified last month – as a result of your generosity, RBUSD was able to provide gifts for over 70 families this year! The families showed so much gratitude for the tremendous efforts and thoughtfulness of everyone involved and I would like to extend a very large thank you to Marina Clarke for spearheading Tulita’s efforts!!
This month kicks off many key legislative events for CA PTA. On January 13th and 14th, our Legislative Chair, Claudia Angulo, will be traveling with other area PTA legislative representatives (including RB Council’s Legislative Chair and Tulita mom, Melissa DeChandt) to Sacramento. There, they will be learning about key issues that affect children, youth, and families. The two-day conference will culminate with an opportunity for our PTA Legislative Chairs to advocate directly with state legislators on key issues facing our community. Claudia will be giving a debrief of what she learned during the conference at our PTA Association meeting on Thursday, January 16th.
Last but not least, I would also like to recognize two Tulita students who placed first and second at the Redondo Beach Council level for this year’s Reflections contest! Mallory Daly placed third in Intermediate Dance Choreography and Amelia Gonzales placed first in Primary Dance Choreography. Amelia will be moving on to compete at the 33rd District level and both ladies will be recognized at a special awards ceremony at Redondo Union this May. Congratulations!
This month’s get to know your PTA highlight is on our amazing Parliamentarian and mom, Masumi Patel:
