Youth Leader Spotligh
t:
More Than a Student Athlete
Wyatt Nelson might be best known for his athletic feats, yet this accomplished stude
nt athlete crossed my path through his selfless community engagement. Wyatt is finishing up hi
s junior year at Battle Mountain High School, and just recently landed a fifth place ranking in the state for pole vaulting. Wyatt credits much of his athletic progression to the strong influence of older student athletes. "I saw how accomplished my older peers were both academically and athletically, and it made me strive to push myself harder," Wyatt explains.

Member Profile: Mind Springs Health
Making Mental Health a Priority
May was Mental Health Awareness Month, but every month we need to be open to communication and helping create a safe environment. This month, Mind Springs Health is our member of the month.
Eagle River Youth Coalition's tagline, 'making youth a community priority', really resonates with us at Mind Springs Health. We are proud to provide local youth with accessible, affordab
le and effective mental health services. As a community we have experienced too many tragedies recently and Mind Springs Health Program Director for Eagle County/ERYC Board President Kristi Grems sees both the issues related to and need for quality mental health care for our kids and teens on a daily basis.

Difference Maker of the Month: Drew Musser
Hopefully we all have that one teacher who stands out in our mind - the one who made a difference, the one who seemed to simultaensoulsy get us, push us, make us want to do better; someone who makes learning fun, has fun but knows when to get serious. That teacher for hundreds of kids over the years is Drew Musser, a fourth grade teacher at Brush Creek Elementary.
"It's so gratifying being a teacher. The kids hit a place in your heart; it's a pinnacle spot in development," Drew shares. "Making a connection with kids makes all the difference."
Do you know someone in our community who deserves recognition? Someone who goes above and beyond? Let us know - email us at [email protected]!

Grateful for Corporate Partners
We're so grateful for the amazing corporations in the valley who strive to give back to nonprofits. Be part of the movement--it's easy and delicious. All summer, The Sebastian is partnering with various nonprofits during its summer music series on Thursday nights from 4 til 6 p.m. On July 19, it's ERYC's turn! Come hear some swanky music and be part of the change!
Launched in 2014, Maya at The Westin Riverfront donates the net proceeds of all food & beverage purchases made at Table #101 - a large round booth that can seat up to 5 people - to a different Vail Valley charitable organization each month as part of You Dine, We Donate: more information.
In July, ERYC is the beneficiary, so head out and eat some modern Mexican and help Eagle County Youth!

- Visit https://www.speaknowcolorado.org/know-the-law/ as a reminder during this spring "party" season of the laws regarding contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Ages under 18 are considered a minor. The legal drinking age is 21. Parents might think they are providing a safe environment by hosting parties with minors and alcohol. Nothing could be further from the truth as it's a felony. If youth ages 18 to 20 are present in the home, they are liable on their own for a Minor In Possession (MIP).
