A Message from the Director...

GCC Community,

Well, we made it!!! Time to exhale, enjoy better parking, and get caught up on that pile of loose ends before taking a much-needed breather. I hope that all of you enjoy a relaxing break, and take time to enjoy family and friends in the coming weeks.

This is our last newsletter of the year, and we will be taking a break until next semester. Please take a moment to fill out the brief survey below to provide your honest impressions of this newsletter format. We want to make communication as effective as possible, so your feedback is important to us.

I am really looking forward to a lot of community interaction next semester---our exciting schedule of events includes the faculty retreat, the distinguished public lecture, and the graduate student symposium. See you there!

Katherine S. McCarter Graduate Student Policy Award

The Ecological Society of America (ESA) invites applications for its Katherine S. McCarter Graduate Student Policy Award. Offered each year, this award gives ten graduate students hands-on science policy experience including interacting with congressional decision-makers, federal agency officials, and others engaged in science and public policy. The 2019 policy event is March 25-27, 2019.

Application Deadline is 1/13/19.
