Growing Organic Corn Production in the Champlain Valley to Meet Market Demand

The Vermont Tortilla Company of Shelburne is growing new markets in the region and expanding production. They are now looking for Champlain Valley farmers who can supply them with certified organic dent corn and are offering $700 per ton cleaned and delivered.

This farmer-to-farmer workshop will be presented by the Wrisley family from Essex, NY who currently grow 100 acres of corn for Vermont Tortilla on their 650-acre farm. The Wrisleys are growing organic wheat, hay, soybeans and corn in their rotation. Vermont Tortilla Company will also give a brief overview of their business and discuss their desire to support local farms and food production.

Organic corn offers producers a new market opportunity to significantly boost their profit per acre. Come find out if it can work on your farm.

All organic dairy, grain, bean, hemp, producers are encouraged to attend. Certified organic & transitional organic producers seeking higher value rotational crops should join this conversation!

Lite refreshments will be served. Coffee talk starts at 8:30, workshop starts promptly at 9:00. Cost is only $15.00

In the event of a storm cancellation, we will inform registrants via email and the workshop will be rescheduled at a later date.
