Moreno Valley Police Department Launches Operation Holiday Cheer
The Moreno Valley Police Department launched Operation Holiday Cheer to brighten the lives of children and families that are experiencing an economically challenging time. Officers will spread joy throughout the community this holiday season, as they provide a special holiday experience for deserving families.

The Moreno Valley Police Department is accepting the following donations to help spread joy this holiday season:

  • Financial Support
  • Gift Wrap & Bows
  • Toys
  • Candy
  • Gift Cards

This year's Operation Holiday Cheer mission includes the following fun holiday events:

Shop with a Cop - Eligible children will go on a shopping trip with a Moreno Valley Police Department Officer to pick out their own presents.

Holiday Parade - Santa and his Officer helpers parade through select neighborhoods in Moreno Valley helping to create a fun holiday atmosphere by providing candy, stuffed toys, smiles and laughter.

Holiday Party - The Moreno Valley Police Department holds a holiday party for approximately 45 qualifying families each year at the Conference & Recreation Center. The Party includes a catered meal, live entertainment, games, photos with Santa, and gifts!

Donations are being accepted at the Moreno Valley Police Department located at 22850 San Juan De Los Lagos.

Moreno Valley Fire Department Ignites the Spark of Love during
Holiday Toy Drive
Every year, tens of thousands of children experience Christmas morning with no gifts to open. To bring smiles to these children, the firefighters in Moreno Valley, in cooperation with CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire and KABC Channel 7, host a "Spark of Love Toy Drive". Residents that wish to be part of this special event are encouraged to drop off a new, unwrapped toy or sports equipment at any local fire station to support this worthwhile cause. 

With your support, children throughout Moreno Valley will receive a new toy this holiday season.  Your donation to the "Spark of Love Toy Drive" will be accepted at any of the City's seven fire stations through December 15, 2017:

Employment Resource Center to Host Resume Workshop
Join us on Thursday, December 7, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for Hire MoVal's Resume Workshop at the Moreno Valley Employment Resources Center (ERC).

Moreno Valley Officers Recognized for K9 Trial Accomplishments
Every year the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department K9 Team invites law enforcement agencies throughout California to compete in a challenging K9 trials competition.

Officers and their K9 partners compete in various tasks during this two day competition. The K9 Trials tasks include narcotics detection, evidence location, protection, agility, and obedience. These competitions are instrumental in the development of skills and team work for canine handlers and service dogs. This event was held in Norco, California on November 3rd and 4th.

Nearly 50 teams competed, and Moreno Valley Police Officer Jason Santistevan and his K9 partner “Ozzi” came in first place for, “Building Narcotic Searches.” Officer Gabriel Maldonado and his K9 partner “Arkan” came in second place, for “Building Suspect Searches.”

The Moreno Valley Police Department is proud of these accomplishments and congratulates Officer Santistevan and K9 Ozzi and Officer Maldonado and K9 Arkan.
