A Veteran-owned Business, Penfield Sport and Fitness is the only privately owned health club in the Rochester area. Established in 1978 by its present owner, Alan Hanford, the Club celebrated 40 years in business in 2018. The Club was originally named Penfield Racquet Club, and contained eight racquetball courts, men’s and women’s locker rooms, a nursery and lounge. As community interest began to shift from racquetball to fitness, the Club began to change.

January 10th - PBC Annual Holiday Party
Join us to celebrate the season with our Annual Holiday Party, Thursday, January 10th from 5:30-8:30 PM at Glendoveers .  A cash bar and hors d'oeuvres will be provided. Share some holiday cheer with fellow PBC members, local business leaders and friends. We will also be announcing the winners of our Annual Awards .  

This event is FREE for Premium Members, $10 per person for Members and their guests, and $15 per person for non-members. In addition, we will collect non-perishable donations for the Penfield Ecumenical Food Shelf .

The Annual Holiday Party is sponsored in part by Dawson Law Firm, Steve Conger at Spectrum, and Heathwood Assisted Living.
January 22nd - Morning Spark @ Penfield Tim Horton's
Put a little spark in your morning! Join us for the first networking event of the year at the Penfield Tim Hortons (2230 Penfield Road, Penfield) from 8-9am. This event is an opportunity for members (and guests) to gather for informal networking and a cup of coffee. Pop in before you head to the office.  

No reservations are required but an  email confirmation  is helpful, or you may RSVP by using the "Register Now" button. Bring your business cards to share with members attending.

Flapjack Saturday to benefit Shepherd Home
Please join the First Baptist Church at a Flapjack Saturday to benefit PBC Member Shepherd Home on Saturday January 19th from 8-10am. Cost is $5 per person for an "all you can eat" breakfast of pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage ad more!!
SAVE THE DATE: Penfield Rotary Holds Brew & Dinner Event Feb. 28th

The Penfield Rotary Club will hold a Brew & Dinner fundraiser event on the evening of Thursday, Feb. 28th at Penfield Country Club . K2 Brewing will pair their craft beers with a four-course gourmet meal created by the Penfield Country Club Executive Chef. Proceeds benefit Honor Flight and Camp Haccamo. More details to follow, but mark the date in your calendar for this very popular event.
Membership Reminder
2019 Membership Invoice Due
Membership invoices for the 2019 year were due on November 1, 2018 for those members on a November 1 - October 31 member year. 

Invoices were sent out in early September 2018 to provide adequate time for processing. Outstanding invoices were resent several additional times. As of January 15th, members with unpaid dues will be dropped from the Chamber.

Welcome New Members
The Penfield Republican Committee is dedicated to good, local government for Penfield and supports the ideals of fiscal responsibility and sound values. Committee Members engage in several activities including selecting local candidates to run on the Republican ballot line; developing party issues and policies; and keeping the public informed, connected, and represented. Meetings are generally held the second Monday of each month at 7PM at the Town Hall Auditorium. See the PRC website for current schedule of meetings and events.

PBC Hires New Staff Member
The Penfield Business Chamber has hired a Marketing and Technical Liaison. Joelle Maurer will be responsible for monitoring email and social media, creating the monthly newsletter, and keeping the website updated.

Ms. Maurer is a lifetime Penfield resident. She is a K-12 Penfield School graduate and returned to Penfield to raise her children in the same school district. She is an active community member and has served in multiple roles within PTA, sports, and Scouting groups.

She looks forward to helping bring additional opportunities to the Penfield business community.
