 School aftercare programs are not always the best. Some kids want to go to hang out with their friends; however… -           It is likely they won’t get their homework done, and it becomes another thing you have to do. -           Aftercare programs are often not open as late as you need. -           Fines are associated if you’re late due to traffic. What happens if your child is asked to leave aftercare and is not permitted to return?

A nanny can supervise homework to ensure it gets finished every night, and she can often stay later when a meeting or traffic holds you up.

Scheduling Aftercare centers have set hours of operation.  If you arrive later than expected due to heavy traffic or transportation delays too often, you risk being fined or asked to leave.

Scheduling Nannies can provide flexible hours, in case you need to stay later at the office. Another a dvantage?  You are able to plan your child’s ideal schedule. An exciting new experience can await them every day!

School bus issues Some school districts' policies allow dropoff at bus stops without an adult there to escort the child home… call me overprotective, but anyone can follow my kid home. (#NotOkay)

Nanny as driver Nanny will either meet your child at the bus stop or pick him/her up directly from school.

Children's sick day If the kids have a sick day, you have a sick day. Schools want you to keep your germs to yourself!

School holidays/ closings Schools are open Monday to Friday only and closed on holidays.   What happens when there is a school holiday that your job does not give off for?

School holidays/ closings  Luckily, most school holidays and closings are planned by the beginning of the school year, and you're able to coordinate ahead with Nanny. But in the event of unplanned snow and sick days, you have a built-in backup on standby!

Germs Unfortunately, they are not so good at keeping the germs to themselves… the first couple of years, expect your child to be sick every time someone else is.

Germs Nanny is able to keep the children’s environment clean and non-toxic during really bad cold or flu seasons. You can limit your child’s exposure to germs.

Allergies  Allergies are no fun. The many hands at aftercare programs that touch your child have touched many other children and objects as well. This raises the risk of exposure to allergens.

Allergies Allergies are no fun… but everyone in your home will be on the same page, no excuses. The allergen can be kept away from your home and your child.

Holidays Aftercare hours are Monday to Friday only and they close on holidays. What happens when your employer does not give that holiday off?

Your weekends You can have more of your weekend to yourself.    During the week, Nanny will absorb some of the tasks on your list, such as packing and unpacking backpacks, doing laundry, tidying up, and countless other miscellaneous chores that can be daunting to working parents. This leaves you with more time to enjoy your home, family, and friends on the weekend!
