Townhall Meeting:
Tobacco Use and Safety in the Asian Community

From April 2017 to January 2018, ACA partnered with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Service (MDHHS) and multiple local organizations to conduct a Michigan Asian Tobacco Usage Survey. ACA will go over our findings in a Townhall Meeting on  Saturday, September 8th , 2018 from 2 P.M. to 5 P.M . at the Chinese Community Center in Madison Heights.

Healthy Gardening Fair

Mark your calendars  [September 15]  for the second annual Healthy Gardening Fair at the Chinese Community Center! 

This outdoor community health event will feature results from the winter melon growing competition, health workshops, food and drink booths, and much more. Join us in promoting healthy living in the Asian American community.

B3 Leadership Summit 2018

The Association of Chinese Americans (ACA) is proud to announce the third edition of B3 Leadership Summit: "Explore, Engage, and Execute – the Ingredients for Professional and Personal Success" which will be held on Saturday, September 22nd  from 12pm to 4pm at Oakland University

46th Anniversary Celebration Banquet

We invite you to join us to commemorate our 46th year of serving the local Asian Pacific American (APA) community in Michigan.

The evening will include dinner, entertainment, networking, and an awards ceremony to honor our outstanding partners, sponsors, and volunteers. We'll also introduce our guiding organizational theme for next year: "Building on the Best: Power, Passion, and Persuasion."

APIA-U: Leadership

APIA U is an interactive college leadership training program that assembles students from each region of the United States and focuses on self-awareness, team-building, and direct action organizing. Participants will be asked to challenge themselves, share their experiences, and develop leadership tools in order to effectively serve as catalysts for change. 

Time: Saturday,September 15th, 10 am- 2 pm

Digital Inclusion program

The ACA is partnering with Comcast to offer the  Digital Inclusion  program to children ages 14-21 who have an interest in digital technology. This will be the seventh year ACA has worked with Comcast and the curriculum will also include courses from EverFi.
 
The program will run throughout the school year and will end in May 2019 with the tentative graduation day on Saturday, June 8th. The program is limited to 20 students and participants need to also provide a minimum of 50 hours of community service in order to graduate from the program. 

Time: Every Sunday start from October 28th, 1 pm-4 pm
