Wilton Library Mini Golf Tourney for Adults
Friday, January 25 from 6:30 to 9:30pm
The kids had so much fun at last year's Mini Golf fundraiser, that Wilton Library is holding one for adults, complete with food, libations and prizes to win. Teams of foursomes will compete on the 18-hole Mini-Golf Course while friends and fans cheer them on. Putters and balls provided. Tickets are available for foursomes for $300; couples for $150 or singles for $75. Couples and singles will be assigned to foursomes by the library. Spectator tickets are $50 per person. Food and libations included. Creative golf attire encouraged. Family Mini Golf Day is January 26. Click here for tickets, sponsorship information and all the details
WGG/WLA Documentary Film: STRAWS

Please join us on Jan. 9 for a screening of the film, STRAWS, an award-winning documentary that illuminates the problems related to straws and other single-use plastic pollution that inundate our waterways and oceans. A brief panel discussion and Q&A session follows with Charlie Taney of the Norwalk River Valley Trail, Nina Quaratella of the North American Marine Environment Protection Association, Bridget Cervero and David Hudson of The Maritime Aquarium. New Perspectives Film Series: JANE
Saturday, January 12 @7:30pm
A treasure trove of never-before-seen footage, along with Brett Morgan's masterful direction, tells the story of Jane Goodall's research. This documentary film focuses on Jane's groundbreaking work with chimpanzees in Tanzania. JANE also explores Goodall's relationship with husband and cameraman Hugo Van Lawick, as well as her relationship with the natural world. Suggested donation of $5. Refreshments served. The New Perspectives Documentary series is programmed and moderated by filmmaker, Megan Smith-Harris. A Q&A will follow the film.  More info & register
Wilton Library Readers - Autumn

Three New Support Groups Forming in January
  • Caregiver Support Group meets Wednesdays, January 9 through February 27, @12:30pm
  • Loss of a Spouse Support Group meets Mondays, January 7 through February 25, @6pm
  • Loss of a Loved One Support Group meets Mondays, January 7 through February 25, @12:30pm
Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County and Wilton Library invite you to attend these new support groups where you will find support, empathy and understanding with others in similar circumstances. These support groups meet at the library and are free-of-charge. Pre-registration is required. Breast Cancer Survivors' Support Group
Tuesday, January 8 @6pm
Post-treatment breast cancer survivors are invited to join in this monthly support group led by Nina Marino, LCSW. Nina was the Clinical Director of the former Breast Cancer Survival Center and is a breast cancer survivor. More info & register
AARP Driver Safety Class
Saturday, January 12 @10am
This single session, four-hour course for drivers age 50+ covers the normal changes in vision, hearing and reaction time associated with ageing and provides practical techniques on how to adjust to these changes, along with learning to operate vehicles more safely in today's increasingly challenging driving environment. There are no written or driving tests - classroom only.  More info & register

Teens Create a Survival Tool

Do you like to hike, camp or adventure in the outdoors? If so, come learn how to make a Paracord Bracelet. Worn around your wrist, this sturdy nylon rope can be taken apart and used to tie up gear, secure a tent or hammock, make a splint for a broken limb, hang clothes, transform into a belt, and more!
