Naoki Sakai (Figaro Designer)
Last month we were delighted to hear from Naoki Sakai after reaching out to him on Facebook. He sent us three interviews that provide a real insight into the initial press feedback during the initial launch of the Figaro plus the timeline involved in the Pike Series of cars. Reading the info he supplied it was interesting to see where Naoki must have got much of his inspiration from. The Be-1 with its curves (which was very radical for the times) was an early indication of how the Figaro looks today. Read more We are chuffed that he now knows about our little club. All we need to do now is to track down the other designer; Shoji Takahashi...

Check the weather is perfect for the Fig...

Dutch Member and Figaro Specialist Rob Janssen sent in this picture of a Figaro Weather Vane. Rob said... " If you are one of the leading Figaro dealers in Europe and have seen all parts/accessories concerning the Figaro, you start creating your own" He tells us he manufactured the vane in stainless steel matching the contours of a Figaro.

When finished he painted one side Pale Aqua and the other side Emerald Green and welded it onto the top of his hut in the garden... We think he should put it on his website as the perfect Figaro garden accessory!
Read the official Nissan Press Release sent out on the 14th March 1991

"Nissan has given the Figaro a unique design that conveys a sense of spiritual satisfaction and a full complement of equipment and appointments intended to satisfy a zestful desire for a good time"

This delightful comment (which sums the car up perfectly) was taken from the official press release dated 14th December 1991 and published by NISSAN NEWS (the media channel of Nissan Motor Co Ltd)

There are some real gems in the release which gave a flavour of what was to come. Read now

Figaro Owners Club at NEC Classic Motor Show 2018

My son Daniel in June 2008
About the club

How the club started
My son Daniel had always wanted a Figaro, having seen the car at our local garage when he was just 16. After saving for a number of years (plus a small contribution from his mum and dad) he brought an Emerald Green model in June 2008.

Following the purchase we scoured the internet for a members club in the hope that we could attend events with other owners, but were amazed that none existed...and so the Figaro Owners Club was born!  We decided to build a website and forum which took 6 months, and on the 1st March 2009 we pressed the 'publish button' and waited to see if anyone wanted to join. Within a week we had 10 members, a month 35 and a year 478 members.

Today the club has around 1,300 members worldwide in countries including New Zealand, Japan, Australia, USA, Canada, Germany, Spain, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Sweden and many more.
We are grateful to you and all our other members for help and encouragement throughout our journey as the club has grown into a passion which has taken over our lives.
Warmest Regards
