Learn how early research scientists unraveled some of the mysteries of DNA, the challenges to sequencing the first human genome, what we've learned about ourselves since the Human Genome Project was completed, and possibilities for the future!
Unlocking STEM for Students: DNA Decoded

DNA Decoded is a free resource created by the Illumina Foundation and Discovery Education that is designed to equip educators (grades 6-12) with digital tools to inspire students to learn more about genomics, and how they can use this knowledge to change the world. Tools include NGSS-aligned lesson plans and activities. A great way to inspire our next generation of scientists in the classroom!

2019 National Human Genome Research Institute Short Course in Genomics for Educators


Middle school, high school, community college, and Tribal College educators teaching genetics, biology, or another science related class - this course is for you! The National Human Genome Research Institute's (NHGRI) Short Course in Genomics offers science educators the opportunity to hear lectures and receive teaching resources from leading NHGRI and National Institutes of Health researchers, clinicians and staff and discuss ways to incorporate genomics content into their classrooms.

The course will be held from Monday, July 29 - Thursday, August 1, 2019, on the National Institutes of Health campus in Bethesda, Maryland.
