Moreno Valley Police Department Volunteers Honored
The Moreno Valley Police Department recently hosted the annual Volunteer Appreciation dinner to honor the numerous volunteers who help the department provide exceptional service day after day.

From staffing community patrols and manning traffic control to doing data entry, these volunteers make it possible for our sworn officers to spend more time in the community.

Our volunteers don’t wear a badge and a gun, but they are a critical part of our police department. The men and women of the Moreno Valley Police Department appreciate their dedication to our shared mission – serving the residents of Moreno Valley.
Thank you to all of our volunteers. You are appreciated.

For more information about volunteering with the Moreno Valley Police Department, please visit the City’s website .
Emergency Response Training Tailored for Spanish-speaking Residents
The City’s Office of Emergency Management (OEM) held its first Spanish-language Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Basic Training Course, certifying 16 students over the three-day course.

The CERT Program provides the same course content as the English version, teaching residents how to prepare for and respond to a disaster, fire safety, light search and rescue, and disaster medical operations.

The Office of Emergency Management implemented the Spanish-language CERT course as a way of reaching additional members of the Moreno Valley community who would benefit from having the classes held in Spanish. Classes will be held throughout the year in both English and Spanish.

Please check the City’s website for more information about the CERT program and to register for a future class.
MVPD K9 Handler, K9 Graduate from Patrol Handler School
Moreno Valley Police Officer Murphy and K9 Herbie recently graduated from Basic Patrol Handler School.

Officer Murphy, who has worked for the MVPD for several years, is excited about his new assignment with Herbie.

Herbie is a 3 1/2 year old Malinois who now heads to five weeks of Narcotics training before hitting the ground running in Moreno Valley.

We look forward to seeing them on duty together, keeping Moreno Valley safe.
