City Link Goes Full Digital

The city has been creating and publishing newsletters for many years. Live Christmas Tree Disposal

As the holiday season winds down, are you looking for a place to dispose of your live Christmas tree? As in years past, the city will provide a disposal site at Drake Softball Complex, located at 22nd Street and Southwest Parkway, for residents to drop off live trees. Residents can dispose of their trees through Monday, January 21. On January 22, the trees will be taken to the landfill to be mulched and used in landscaping throughout the city. Be sure that all ornaments, tinsel and tree stands have been removed. For more information, call 271-5514.
Angel Flights

Rosecrans Memorial Airport has a little over 30,000 takeoffs or landings throughout a year. All operations hold a special or unique story, but some of these flights pull the heart strings a little bit more than others. Angel Flight is a not-for-profit organization that will arrange free air transportation for a legitimate charitable or medically related need for an individual and health care organizations. They will also arrange transportation for those who are financially distressed or who are in a time-critical, non-emergency situation due to their medical condition.

Over the past ten years, Rosecrans Memorial Airport has been a part of hundreds of Angel Flights. In the past 24 years, Angel Flight Central has flown over nine million miles and over 26,000 flights nationwide. During the last year alone, Angel Flight Central has flown as many as 2,197 flights for people in need. Many of the aircraft and pilots based at Rosecrans have been or still are a part of this wonderful organization.
