The Karen Walanka Online Exhibition
Beyond being a past AGJA president, Karen Walanka, of blessed memory, appreciated and loved those who were inspired by Jewish faith, text, or tradition, and expressed it through their art. As Executive Director of Moriah, she helped found the biennial Judaic Art and Jewelry Fair. The Karen Walanka Online Exhibition for AGJA members is one way for the Guild to recognize and honor all that Karen brought to embrace and to foster the appreciation of Judaica and Jewish art.

Mazal Tov to our very own, Laurel Feldman , for being showcased in the online exhibit, which is now live for viewing. Click here to view the full exhibition!

Please contact Rebecca Fletcher with any questions.
Hadar is coming back to Chicago!

We will be holding a day full of learning on Sunday, March 17, in partnership with Rochelle Zell Jewish High School. Rabbis Shai Held and Avi Strausberg will be teaching on the topic of Who We Are and Why It Matters.

Jewish ethics focuses not just on what we do, but on who we are. Character traits are essential to living a moral and holy life. Join us as we explore such questions as: What kind of human beings are we asked to be? What is the relationship between right actions and right intentions? Why is law necessary, but not sufficient to Judaism’s vision of a religious life? Should we assess our leaders primarily by their accomplishments or their character?

We hope that you join us , and share our  Facebook event  to help spread the word.
"The Hearing Loop"
Moriah has a loop system available for individuals using hearing aids, to improve communication access for our members and guests with hearing loss. To access this system, tell your audiologist or hearing instrument specialist that your synagogue is "looped" and ask if there is a t-coil in your hearing aid(s). Then make an appointment to have it activated. If your hearing aids do not have a t-coil, talk with him/her about alternate ways of accessing the loop.
