It was a busy session! Obviously, defending Proposition 3 took up the majority of our time and energy, but we did work on other bills as well, including issues of price transparency, healthcare cost, prescription drug importation, and oral health.
UHPP welcomed Lynn Quincy, a nationally renowned expert from Healthcare Value Hub
Lynn Quincy, the director of The Healthcare Value Hub visited during the session to present to legislators and the public on some new polling done in Utah.
The data has been divided into four issue briefs available here.
A survey of more than 1,000 Utah adults conducted from August 28 to September 14, 2018, found that:
More than half (60%) experienced healthcare affordability burdens in the past year;
Even more (85%) are worried about affording healthcare in the future; and
Across party lines, they express strong support for policymakers to address these problems.
We will be using the results for years to come to help alleviate burdensome healthcare costs that many Utahns experience.
The legislature's Proposition 3 repeal and replace plan leaves several secondary coverage gaps. Are you or someone you know concerned about being left out by the new plan? Fill out this survey, and share with your networks:
