Lenten Meditations
Once again, the Diocese of Ohio will be providing daily meditations during Lent. They will be sent out via Constant Contact and posted on the Diocesan Facebook page daily.
Summer Camp at Bellwether Farm
Bellwether Farm offers a summer camp where school-age children can immerse themselves in fun, engaging activities. These programs will seek to teach healthy social, nutritional, and environmental practices, while providing a safe context in which to encounter God's beautiful creation. Campers will have an opportunity to learn about organic gardening, animal care, and creative cooking. They will also participate in traditional camp activities including swimming, canoeing, arts and crafts, fishing, field games, and archery. The Bellwether Farm staff is invested in the life of every camper, seeking to inspire future generations to become passionate leaders in the world around them.

Upcoming Safeguarding Trainings

Installation of the Very Reverend Bernard J. Owens, IV
Please join us at the  Installation of the Very Reverend Bernard J. Owens, IV as the twelfth Dean of Trinity Cathedral at a Choral Evensong on Sunday, March 24 at 4:00 p.m. Clergy are invited to vest and process in Choir dress and tippet. A reception will follow immediately thereafter.
Summer Internships with the Episcopal Diocese of Ohio
The Diocese of Ohio is currently seeking four interns to assist in various offices throughout the summer. Interns will be asked to work a total of 200 hours - approximately ten weeks between June and August. There is a stipend of $10-$12/hour, dependent upon skills and previous experience. The list of  internship opportunities is now available.

Carlotta East Scholarship
Carlotta East scholarship applications are now being accepted. This program has assisted many Diocese of Ohio women with financial aid since it was first established in 1945. Funds are available for those who need assistance to complete their education, upgrade their skills before returning to the workforce, or complete religious training. The usual grant for scholarship aid is approximately $1,000. Applicants must hold at least junior undergraduate status by August 2019 in order to apply. African American Life and Thought
Join us at St. Michael's in the Hills, Toledo on March 31 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. for poetry readings. The panel of readers will touch on themes of enlightenment, love, violence, justice, reverence, inspiration,
spirituality, identity, and cultural growth, and aspirations pertaining to the African American community and experiences. This event is sponsored by the Commission for Racial Understanding. A complimentary meal will be provided
Clergy Renewal of Vows
Clergy Renewal of Vows & Blessing of Holy Oils will take place on Monday, April 15 at Trinity Church, Toledo and at Trinity Cathedral on Tuesday, April 16. Big Provincial Gathering
Province V of The Episcopal Church invites you to the Big Provincial Gathering in Kalamazoo, Michigan on July 12-13. Mike Michie, Mission Developer for The Episcopal Church, will be the keynote speaker and conference emcee. Workshops of all aspects of ministry will be offered. Choral Evensong at Trinity Cathedral
The Choral Evensong is an evening service, rich with contrasts between light and dark, and sung by the Trinity Cathedral Choir, the Trinity Chamber Singers, or a local guest choir. Offered weekly on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 p.m., now through May 15. Each service commemorates a saint from Holy Women, Holy Men, The Episcopal Church's book of saints. The service is followed at 7:00 p.m. by a community soup and salad supper, catered by Luna Bakery & Cafe. The suggested meal donation $6 .
Stations of the Cross
St. Andrew's, Akron invites you to join us for the Stations of the Cross at 6:00 p.m. every Friday evening during Lent .
Lenten Program at St. Michael's in the Hills, Toledo
St. Michael's in the Hills, Toledo is offering five Wednesday evening talks given by clergy from five different religions as part of a Lenten Program that begins on March 13. Clergy from Islam, Buddhism, Judaism, Roman Catholicism, and Hinduism will be speaking from 7:00-8:00 p.m. on successive Wednesday nights in Lent. This year's series will focus on the 'High Holy Days" in each different religion - what are they, and how are they celebrated. 

  • March 13: Imam Dr. Talal Eid, Imam and Director of Religious Affairs at Islamic Center of Greater Toledo
  • March 20: Gerald Kowalski, Toledo attorney and practicing Buddhist
  • March 27: Rabbi Sam Weinstein, leader of Temple Shomer Emunim of Sylvania
  • April 3: Father Jeremy Miller, Pastor of Corpus Christi University Parish
  • April 10: Pandit Anant Dixit, Priest at Hindu Temple of Toledo

A Lenten Journey: From Aloneness to Community
Please join us at St Luke, Chardon for a Wednesday evening program "Invitation to Forgive" at 6:00 p.m. on March 13. The evening will begin with a soup supper. Throughout the program we will consider the theme of invitation. Using the words of Jesus from the cross, we will consider the epidemic of loneliness and isolation in our culture and discern a Christian response that creates community and healing. Materials and resources will be made available for each week, along with encouragement to explore the way others are talking about themes such as forgiveness, service, hope, family, trust, and empathy. Brown Bag Concert
St. Paul's, Medina is hosting a Brown Bag Concert on March 19 at 12:00 p.m. The concert will feature The Harmonia Band as they play folk music from Eastern Europe. Brown Bag Concerts at Trinity Cathedral
Trinity Cathedral will host a Brown Bag Concert "From Crooners to Heartthrobs" on March 20 at 12:00 p.m as part of their Movie Memories series. JR Fralick will perform movie songs that are near and dear to everyone. Trinity Cathedral will also host a Brown Bag Concert  "It Takes Two" on March 27 at 12:00 p.m as part of their Movie Memories series. Kristin Caswelch and JR Frolic will perform movie duets. For either concert, you may bring a brown bag lunch or purchase one for $7.
Lenten Fish Fry
St. Philip's, Akron is hosting Lenten Fish Fry dinners on  March 22 and April 5. All meals will be served from 5:00-7:00 p.m. The menu will be catfish or tilapia, baked and green beans, cole slaw, dessert, and a beverage. The dinner is $10.00 for dine-in or carry-out. Immigration 101
Grace, Defiance is hosting Immigration 101 on Tuesday, March 26 at 7:00 p.m. Sister Ellen Lamberjack, an accredited Department of Justice Immigration Counselor, will lead a conversation about the difficult and costly road to citizenship. All are welcome. Refreshments will be served .
Shrimp Fry Fundraiser
The Church of the Good Shephered, Lyndhurst is holding a Shrimp Fry Fundraiser on March 29 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. The fundraiser will offer meals for dine-in or take-out. You will be able to purchase a shrimp meal for $12.00, a kid's meal for $4.00, or a vegetarian meal for $10.00. Cold drinks and homemade desserts will be available for purchase. National Underground Railroad Freedom Center Trip
The Wilma Ruth Combs Chapter of the Union of Black Episcopalians is sponsoring a one-day bus trip to the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati on May 18. The fee of $125 includes the bus trip, snacks on the way down, and dinner on the ride back. Money is due to Dianne Smith by April 6. Apply to be a Youth on the EYE20 Planning Team
Episcopal youth are invited to apply to serve on the Planning Team for the 2020 Episcopal Youth Event (EYE20).  To be eligible for the Planning Team, youth applicants must be currently enrolled in grades 9 - 11 and be a communicant in good standing in an Episcopal Church congregation.   The deadline for receiving applications is March 17 by 5:00 p.m. EST .
