STUDENTS & THE FLEECE CONNECTION
APRIL 9

MEET MADISON
She’s awesome . And, we’re so proud that she’s an Eden Alum from the Class of 2011 .

Madison’s compassion and kindness led the choice for her Eden senior project : making and distributing blankets to the homeless in Pittsburgh.

FAST FORWARD TO 2019
What Madison began as a senior project developed through the years into a non-profit organization, FLEECE CONNECTION , which makes and distributes fleece blankets to hospitalized Veterans around Western Pennsylvania and the United States.

WHY ARE WE TELLING YOU MADISON'S STORY?
Aside from the fact that it’s really amazing and a delightful part of Eden history; we're sharing because Eden students will be able to roll up their sleeves and help the Fleece Connection on APRIL 9!

WHAT'S HAPPENING?
On April 9, students will invest their energy and compassion in a BLANKET-MAKING WORKSHOP led by Fleece Connection. Held on-campus at Mt. Nebo, this meaningful (and super-fun) hands-on event, will surely inspire students and help them on the journey to connect with their God-given potential and direction for life.

Our goal is that every student will be able to make their own blanket.

YOU CAN HELP REACH THE GOAL!
There are two easy ways to be involved.
  • Shop & Drop: Buy two 2-yard lengths of fleece material* and drop the material off in the main office. *Be sure to select material that would be appropriate for a man or a woman (plain, stripes, plaid, etc.)
OR
  • Donate the Cost of Material: Just CLICK HERE to donate $25.00* (the cost of material for one blanket). *Fleece Connection will purchase the material and bring it to the event for an Eden student to make the blanket!

We are excited for the students to be part of this event. And, we appreciate your generous support!

Questions? Please contact Mr. Gary Laird at glaird@edenca.org .
FROM THE COUNSELING OFFICE

ALL STUDENTS
The 3rd quarter ends Friday, March 22! Be sure to check RenWeb, turn in any missing assignments, and make up missed exams as well!

On Wednesday, March 13, Mrs. Schiren, opened student course request access in RenWeb so you can now submit what you desire/need to take during the 2019-2020 school year.  Course requests are due by this Friday, March 22, so we can begin building the master schedule.

Once we receive RE-ENROLLED student course requests, a printed copy will be sent home with students for parent signature/approval to ensure all parties involved are on the same page. Please refer to the 2019-2020 Course Catalog for additional information. AP and CHS courses have summer work and special testing elements so please be sure to contact teachers and/or Mrs. Cischke to make informed decisions.

2018-2019 AP TESTING
Students taking Advanced Placement (AP) courses this school year, 2018-2019, received an email last week with a test sign-up document . The cost is $94 per exam and the form and payment must be returned to the front office by Wednesday, March 20, to ensure the ordering and receipt of tests.  Exams will be held on campus in early May . Please see the Mt. Nebo Campus calendar for specific dates and times. (The sign-up form also lists this information.)

If you are unsure about taking the AP exams, please speak with your teacher and Mrs. Cischke for advisement regarding recommendations or further details about the process.

GENEVA COLLEGE VISITING MT. NEBO
An admissions representative from Geneva College will be on campus Tuesday, March 19 , during the high school lunch periods to share what Geneva has to offer. Students are encouraged to use this opportunity to learn more about the admissions process and practice interacting with a college representative.
