The city has contracted with WLE to plant 16 new trees on or around Sept. 5 along Lohmans Crossing to beautify one of the major gateways into Lakeway.
The plantings from RM 620 to Emmaus Catholic Parish will replace many trees that have died over the years.
Two of the trees will be 30-gallon Texas mountain laurels, and 14 of the trees will be a mix of 10- to 15-gallon Texas persimmons, possumhaws, yaupons, and mountain laurels.
Total cost of trees plus planting comes to $5,900. Drivers may expect temporary lane closures.
