NEW DATES FOR CURLEW DRIVE, KEMPSVILLE ROAD DETOURS
Overnight pile-driving to continue for two weeks near Kempsville Road
Please note the following detour, lane closure and night work updates for the I-64/I-264 Interchange Improvements projects in Norfolk and Virginia Beach:
Curlew Drive
Curlew Drive will remain closed near the I-64 underpass until approximately late April for underground utility work. Traffic is detoured via Military Highway, I-264 and Newtown Road. Access will remain open to all residences, businesses and streets off of Curlew Drive.
Kempsville Road
Kempsville Road is reduced to one lane in each direction near the I-264 underpass for bridge reconstruction work.
Southbound Kempsville Road will close 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. weeknights at the I-264 underpass through late March, and from 7 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday the next two weekends (March 15-18 and March 22-25). Traffic is detoured to Newtown Road during the closures.
Newtown and Greenwich Roads
Motorists will encounter recurring daytime single-lane closures on Newtown and Greenwich roads when traveling through the project area.
Interstate
Shoulders along I-64 and I-264 are closed for construction. Motorists should expect night-time lane closures on the interstates when traveling through the project area.
Night Work
Pile-driving is scheduled to continue overnight for the next two weeks near where I-264 crosses Kempsville Road.
