Confronting Anti-Semitism and Bullying in 2019
ADL Directors Steve Ginsburg (Connecticut region) and Evan Bernstein (New York Metro region) will give a regional and national outlook on the rise of anti-Semitism and bullying as we head toward a new decade on

Overflow Homeless Shelter
Volunteers Needed!
"Do a mitzvah in your sleep!"

verflow Homeless Shelter volunteers arrive at the First Congregational Church, 164
Deer Hill Avenue,
Danbury at 9:00 pm and stay until 7:00 am. Each night there are two volunteers, usually one male and one female. We typically cover 3 weeks each season. The dates are January 28 to February 3, and February 25 to March 3.

prayer that was written by our post B'nai Mitzvah students. Our 8th-10th graders created this prayer after learning about Jacob's blessing in this week's portion and then reading a wide variety of prayers that parents have used to bless their children. We hope their words bring blessings into your family's life!

New Jewish Senior Services Hospice Volunteer Training Dates
Chaifetz Family Hospice will be holding a 2-Day Hospice Training for people interested in giving their time and compassion to JSS clients in Fairfield County. Training will be held at Jewish Senior Services, 4200 Park Avenue, Bridgeport, CT on Sunday, January 27th and Sunday, February 3rd from 9 am-5 pm.  Social Action Volunteers Needed!
TBC Social Action Committee. The TBC Social Action Committee has many local ways for you to help others, from pitching in at a soup kitchen to preparing dinner at an emergency shelter. New opportunities, dates, and times are posted to the TBC website, so please take a look and see where you can help.
Other Community Opportunities. There are also other ways to get involved in our communities. You can serve as a foster family, deliver food to those in need, and/or host a high school child in the ABC program.

Common Threads
While our Upper Fairfield County
 Federation is a community of communities, we are also a vast library of stories and a vibrant garden with interconnected roots. This year, with the coordination and leadership of our Federation, many of those communities - congregations, organizations, and others - have joined together to create Common Threads, a year-long project to explore our diverse ancestry and heritage and how it weaves together into our strong and integrated Upper Fairfield County community.

Share Your Simcha - Sponsor a Preneg, Oneg or Flowers!
A great way of celebrating special simchas, such as birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, the birth of a child or grandchild, is sharing your nachas with the entire congregation by sponsoring the Shabbat Oneg, preneg or flowers for the Friday of your special week. We will arrange for the flowers, food, and set-up, you just make a minimum donation of $125 for an Oneg, $180 for a Preneg or $250 for the flowers. Sponsor a Shabbat!
