Top Ten Priorities for State Procurement & Companion List of Top Three Horizon Issues
For the first time, NASPO has added a list of the top three emerging issues, due to their potential impact on state procurement in 2018, in addition to the annual
For the second year in a row, state CPOs recognized the strategic role of state central procurement as their highest priority. Undertaking IT procurement transformation was ranked second highest, a significant jump from 7th place for this priority last year. Measuring success and performance metrics ranked third. Additionally, staying on top of IT procurement and emerging technologies, automation and data analytics will be critical in 2018 and the near future, as reflected by the IT-focused horizon issues ranked collectively by CPOs.
NASPO develops programs, conference sessions, research and publications around these state procurement priorities and horizon issues.

NASPO launches a new logo in 2018
NASPO recently launched an updated look to kick off the new year. On January 3, NASPO rolled out a more modern logo and color palette to replace the previous logo, which had been in use since the 1990s.
The new logo is currently featured on the NASPO.org website, the NASPO Network, as well as NASPO's social media channels. Look soon for the logo to appear on all printed and promotional pieces, like the always popular NASPO-branded notepads and pens.

Academic Forum 
April 10-12, 2018
The 2018 Academic Forum will be hosted by Michigan State University, April 10-12, 2018, in East Lansing, Michigan. The forum will bring together academics and state procurement leaders to discuss common challenges faced in attracting and retaining qualified talent in the profession of state procurement.

Cronin Web Series Presents Florida's Concierge Service for Contract Education

Please join us for the second webinar of the Cronin Finalist Webinar Series. Our presenter will be Nicole Acosta from the State of Florida delivering a presentation on their finalist submission for Concierge Service for Contract Education.
U.S. General Services Administration Schedule 70 and Schedule 84 are made available to states and local governments in order to take advantage of the buying power of the Federal government. The Department of Management Services Division of State Purchasing Concierge program provides training to Florida state agencies on how to use the GSA tools, revamped its website to provide instructions on accessing GSA Schedules and established a Concierge Team to assist customers. This program is a true partnership with GSA that involves direct participation of GSA representatives, a Department of Management Services and GSA shared communication system and rapid quality assurance feedback to GSA.

Registration Open for CPPB & CPPO Prep Courses
Registration is open for Procurement U's Spring Prep Courses for the UPPCC CPPB and CPPO Exams. These prep courses are designed as a facilitated review of the UPPCC Body of Knowledge, and are intended to assist any public procurement professional preparing to take the certification exams. Each course will provide resources, discussion with CPPB and CPPO certified instructors, case studies, and assessment tools that allow participants to gauge their individual exam readiness, including exam practice questions designed to mirror the question writing process used by the UPPCC Course. Participants are expected to have acquired knowledge in each of the domain areas, through training, professional experience, and understanding of the practical application of the procurement process, so that these courses can help take that knowledge and prepare you for the exam.

Procurement U Launches New Learning Management System
On Monday, January 8, Procurement U launched its new Learning Management System (LMS) to accommodate the growing professional development needs of the states. The LMS is the website where you register and access all of Procurement U's online courses and in-person trainings. All new course registrations and new user accounts are now taking place on this new website,
which can be accessed here.
If you previously had an account with Procurement U, you should have received an email on Monday, January 8, providing your temporary log-in information for the new website. You can use that temporary information to log in to the new website for the first time, and then you will be prompted to update your password to something more permanent. If you've never had an account with Procurement U before, then you will use the "Create Account" button at the link above to sign up.
If you have any courses currently in progress in the old LMS, the deadline to complete those without losing your progress is
Friday, January 26. Any courses that are not completed in the old LMS will still be available to you in the new website, but you will lose any progress you have made through the course and will be required to start over.
Additionally, all course transcript information for completed courses will transfer over to the new LMS, so you won't lose any course completion history or access to certificates of completion.
