This Sunday - PRAY

I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord's holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge- that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. - Ephesians 3:17-19, NIV

C.S. Lewis noted, the world is "crowded" with God: "We may ignore, but we can nowhere evade the presence of God, who walks everywhere..." Prayer is, in some regard, the ways in which we remember and attend to the presence of God. There are as many ways of praying as there are people, but there are some ways that we will commend this week - Praying the Daily Office, praying with Scripture, Centering prayer, praying without words, and more. Join us this week as we consider how to deepen our prayer lives as we walk "The Way of Love" during this season of Lent.

Also...join us this Sunday at 9:00 am for an opportunity to reflect together on the Way of Love practices.
The Floors in the Church are being refinished beginning March 18

The floors in the church will be refinished beginning Monday, March 18. We will worship in Brewster Hall for two - three weeks: March 24, March 31, and April 7.  We will be back in the Church for Palm Sunday and Easter!

We need lots of help handling the logistics of this work - moving pews, setting up for worship, etc. There is a sign-up sheet in the Clark Street Vestibule.

Women's Fellowship will meet on Friday, March 29 from 7-9 pm

All the women of the parish are invited to a gathering of the Women's Fellowship on Friday, March 29 from 7-9 pm at the home of the Hutchinsons (20 Horace Road, Belmont). 
Generous Donation Made toward the cost of our Custom Communion Rail

We are thrilled to announce that an anonymous donor came forward with a gift of $8000 - half of the cost of the custom communion rail being made for us by Fine Finish, Inc. in Framingham. 

The donor said, "I was praying about it and felt God leading me to make this donation." Please join us in praising God for the donor's faithfulness and ask God's blessing on this generous act!


Presiding Bishop Michael Curry is coming to Massachusetts!

Presiding Bishop Michael B. Curry will be making a visitation in the Diocese of Massachusetts, Friday-Monday, April 26-29.  In addition to several ministry visits and meetings with designated groups that Bishop Curry will be making around the diocese over the course of the weekend, there will be public gatherings with him on Saturday, April 27 and Sunday, April 28 to which all are welcome. 

Saturday, April 27 - "PB & J": Youth Jamboree with the PB, 1:30-3:15 p.m.
Cathedral Church of St. Paul (138 Tremont Street) in Boston. Special conversation program with Bishop Curry for middle and high school youth and their adult mentors.  Register in advance  here .  

Saturday, April 27 - "Way of Love" Rally, 5-6 p.m. 
Boston Common (exact location to be announced) 
Gather and be inspired, challenged and blessed as Bishop Curry proclaims the transforming power of walking the "Way of Love" with Jesus.  Everyone is welcome.

Good news: A replacement generator for Mission of Hope in Haiti has been located!

We are pleased to report that a new generator for the Mission of Hope in Haiti has been purchased. We were able to help with a donation of $2730 thanks to many of you who participated in our "money-board" fundraiser!

Winter Weather Cancellations

With the winter upon us we want to update you on our winter weather cancellation procedures. Sunday services will happen regardless (the Co-Rectors live next door!), but the activities around them (choir, ushers, altar guild, Godly Play, childcare, etc.) may be cancelled. You can find out about cancellations in the following ways:
 
  • We will send out an e-blast. 
  • We will put it on the website.
  • We will put it on the Facebook page.
  • We will put a message on the phone.
