Principal's Corner
Over the past few weeks there have been several discussions about social media and online safety, especially in light of recent news reports about the MoMo Challenge, in which children are reportedly being urged to perform a series of dangerous tasks, including violent attacks and suicide, in order to avoid a curse. Fortnight, PewDiePie videos, and overall online supervision also have raised concerns. Protect Young Eyes can be a valuable resource for parents, and this article has some relevant recommendations about online safety here .
Principal's Corner
Here's what's been happening at Immanuel Lutheran School!
· Our students and chaperones packed 29,909 meal packets at Feed My Starving Children, which will feed about 82 children in Uganda and Sierra Leone for one year.
· Our students in Kindergarten through Grade 2 made cards and s’mores to give to people as a service project to share God’s love and encouragement.
· Our middle schoolers did a wonderful job serving pancakes to approximately 200 students, staff, and guests.
· We had a wonderful time worshiping and sharing a meal with our VIPs. We had almost 100 guests!
· Many thanks to the hundreds of people who came to enjoy Immanuel’s production of Willy Wonka, Jr.  Our students shined with their God-given talents, and they are already excited to find out what next year’s musical will be.
· Our junior varsity and varsity boys basketball teams, cheerleaders, and coaches were recognized at our winter sports banquet. Congratulations to Eli Davis and Olivia Groetken for receiving the Christian Character Awards!
· Mrs. Randall coached our seventh grade math team at the IMSA Junior High Math Competition. We are anxiously awaiting the results!
