MLK Jr. March
Monday, January 21
9:00 a.m. (8:30 a.m. meeting time)
Arizona citizens of all ages and nationalities, from a variety of Valley organizations, take part in the MLK Jr. March, which is symbolic of the 1968 March on Washington, at which Dr. King gave his "I Have a Dream" speech.
We will walk as a congregation together with other Jewish groups under the aegis of the Jewish Community Relations Council.
This "march" is a comfortable two-mile walk at an easy pace, suitable for all ages and for baby strollers, too.
- Our meeting location is Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, downtown (Jefferson and 14th St.), at 8:30 a.m.
- The walk ends at approximately 10:00 a.m. at Margaret T. Hance Park, where the Festival runs until 4:00 p.m.
- Free shuttles at the park will take you back to the church parking lot.
Families are especially encouraged to take advantage
of this opportunity
to "pray with their feet."
