Annual District H Spring Meeting + Housing Fair
Mayor Turner & Council Member Cisneros invite you to the Annual District H Spring Meeting + Housing Fair. During the meeting there will be presentations on the City's annual Capital Improvement Project (CIP) plan and Houston's Hurricane Harvey recovery progress, as well as multiple housing resources available to both new home buyers and those recovering from Harvey. Marshall Middle School Makerspace: It's Not Too Late To Give Input
On 3/6/19, a public forum was held to discuss a proposed transformation of Marshall MS's library into a makerspace with a partnership between Marshall MS, Northside High School, TXRX, the City of Houston, Avenue, and TecHub. Northline: Community Health & Wellness Fair
The community is invited to receive free health screenings, immunizations, Medicaid, WIC, Gold Card, and other enrollment services, vision exams, and more at a resource fair hosted at Fonville Middle School at the end of the month. Call 832-582-4853 for more info.

Old 6th Ward: MECA's Harvey Restoration Challenge Event
Due to Hurricane Harvey, the historic DOW School (owned by MECA) sustained hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages. The Cullen Trust for the Performing Arts awarded MECA with a matching grant challenge, and MECA needs your help. Support the cause by attending MECA's Harvey Restoration Challenge Event, where there will be presentations on the importance of the DOW School and performances by MECA students and alumni. Apply by March 31 st for the 2019 This Way Ahead Summer Jobs Program, which provides youth (ages 16-24) paid opportunity to learn the skills to find a job and keep a job.
