Join us this Sunday, as Marion and Rev. Thom preach the second part of a sermon addressing how we can best respond to the legacy of white supremacy and the reality of systemic racism in a way that is courageous and responsible.

- Peggy Misch Continues Her Journey--in Massachusetts March 22, 7:30-9, in the Sanctuary. Peggy Misch has been a shining light for social justice at The Community Church of Chapel Hill for decades; now she is moving to MA to be closer to family and we are saying adieu with a special event of reminiscing and desserts. Also attending will be her friends from NC Commission on Torture, Orange County Peace Coalition, ACLU, Women's International League for Peace and Justice, and more. All are invited! - 2020 Annual Pledge Drive
We are in the home stretch for wrapping up the 2020 Annual Pledge Drive that was kicked off by an amazing Community Day of Service on March 2nd! - FINAL CALL - ENDOWMENT FUND GRANT SUBMISSION DEADLINE Do you have a project the Endowment Fund can support? This year, we are offering $2000 in grants to strengthen our church's mission (within or beyond its walls), as well as $7000 to support our Building Program. Applications for non-building projects are due by March 15. Application forms and accompanying instructions are available on our webpage.

- NONFICTION BOOK DISCUSSION FOR MARCH On Saturday, March 16, at 10:30 in the Kirby Room, the Nonfiction Readers will discuss Natural Causes: An Epidemic of Wellness, the Certainty of Dying, and Killing Ourselves to Live Longer, by Barbara Ehrenreich. - OUTDOOR CONNECTIONS MARCH 16 OUTING Join Outdoor Connections for the Pump Station Trail in Eno River State Park. The Pump Station Trail is known as the best spring wildflower trail in the park. It's an easy loop hike with a few gentle hills. We can meet at church to carpool at 10 am. Afterwards we can have lunch at Picnic. RSVP for updates.

- CHURCH CANCER SUPPORT GROUP If you have received a cancer diagnosis at any point in time, you are invited to the next meeting on Thursday, March 28, 9:30-11:30 am, in the Straley Room. As the group is still forming, members will discuss ways to make meetings meaningful and supportive. Meetings are lay led by Danny Gotham, Allen Spalt and Cecilia Warshaw. - Join the EcoChallenge! For Earth Month, join a friendly competition between our church and Eno River UU Fellowship to see who can collectively make more impact on climate change through individual actions. - SHARE THE PLATE THANKS What a generous congregation you are! The STP collection for TABLE on Feb. 10 raised $1546. Every week, TABLE fills over 650 bags with food and distributes them to food-insecure-area kids, so that they will have something healthy to eat on weekends and school breaks when they don't have access to their free school meals. The Community Service Ministry thanks you so much for supporting TABLE in this effort.

- "SKIP THE STRAW" MONTH This month is "Skip the Straw" month in Orange Co. This campaign increases awareness of the negative impacts of marine plastic pollution and the need for waste reduction. - FAITH CONNECTIONS ON MENTAL ILLNESS ANNUAL CONFERENCE: April 5
Registration is now open for the April 5th Conference, Hope and Healing: Faith Communities and the Suicide Crisis. This all-day conference focuses on suicide prevention, and guest speakers will address how faith communities can engage, support, and build resiliency around those affected by suicide and suicidality. - Donate to immigrant victims of ICE raids
Last month, 285 immigrants were arrested in covert Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids in our area. El Vïnculo Hispano and El Centro Hispano have set up a "Liberation Not Deportation" fund to help pay for legal representation fees for families caught up in these raids. - Help make Sunday mornings happen - Become a Greeter! Our church is busier than ever, and we need folks to help welcome people in to our church on Sunday morning and we have many Greeter spaces open over the next few weeks! Please take a moment to sign up to be a Greeter, and help new people see what our community is really like. Please join us when you can for this simple, but important work. - WELCOMING CHILDREN IN THE SANCTUARY Children are a wonderful gift to this community. Children are always welcome to worship in the Sanctuary. To support little ones during the service, we will now offer Busy Bags (pouches with fun activities) and Busy Boards (coloring and writing activities) as well as soft toys for our youngest worshipers. Stop by the new Children's Welcome Table in the Sanctuary (across from the Art Table near the Sound Room).

- LECTIO (SACRED READING) MEDITATION GROUP meets at noon every Friday in the Commons. We use readings from poetry and the wisdom traditions of the world's religions as prompts for reflection and sharing. No need to sign up ahead of time. Please join us.

- MEDITATION Want to explore learning to meditate or developing your own mindfulness/meditation? Our group members would be happy to meet with you individually and share experiences.
