Parkview-Brookwood Region 7-AAAAAAA
championship game highlights Friday slate
There are well over 100 big high school baseball games across the state tonight, and one of the biggest is a clash between two bitter rivals with a region title on the line.

Parkview hosts Brookwood tonight at 7 p.m. at Hugh Buchanan Field in Lilburn. The Panthers (24-5) were No. 2 in
our Monday baseball rankings, and Brookwood (22-7) checked in at No. 7. The teams met for the first time this season on Wednesday, renewing the rivalry series at Brookwood in the first of two games this week. Brookwood rallied to take the 9-4 win by scoring eight runs in the final two innings, four in the sixth and four in the seventh.
The Broncos' late surge was important for more than just locking up the victory; if Parkview wins tonight to force a season split, then the region crown would go to the team with the higher run differential in the two games. With Brookwood's advantage at 9-4, the Panthers have some work to do this evening in order to overtake their rival.
We will be highlighting this crucial matchup and others throughout the night on our Twitter
@ScoreAtlanta, so give us a follow and keep track of all of tonight's action. Also, like
our Facebook page for more great coverage.
Score Atlanta will also have coverage of each round of the playoffs for baseball, lacrosse and soccer starting next Tuesday with the girls soccer first round. We will be gathering every score from across the state for ScoreAtl.com and AJC.com, so be sure to stay tuned in for all the finals each night.

Collum becomes all-time leading scorer for contender Adairsville
The Adairsville girls soccer team has seen its share of success over a five-year stretch. Since the 2014, season the team boasts a 74-14-3 record, with two quarterfinals appearances in Class AAA. Now well on their way to another strong season with a 10-2-2 record (7-2 mark in Region 6-AAA), the Lady Tigers are looking for more postseason.
Heading into their match against Ringgold on April 10, senior Emily Collum was approaching her 100th career goal, a milestone only accomplished once before by former Adairsville player Carrie Freshour.
The star senior exploded right out of the gate, capitalizing on an assist from Hannah DeBoard to score the first goal of the game. She quickly turned around and fed Gillian Johnson the ball, assisting the senior for the second goal of the game. From that point on, there was no holding back for Collum. She went on a three-goal streak in a three-minute stretch to propel the Tigers to a 5-0 lead early in the first half. History would happen for Collum later in the second half after Johnson found Collum again, giving the star senior her 100th goal during her high school career. Joining her in the history books was goalkeeper Havyn Isaac, who recorded an Adairsville school record 37th career win.
After their solid 8-0 victory over Ringgold, Adairsville rolled back out to take on Coahulla Creek and Collum had a chance to take the goals record outright. The game played out in similar fashion with the Tigers controlling the game through Collum despite a quiet first half. Through the first 45 minutes, the Tigers' inability to break through the Coahulla Creek defense came to an end after Johnson found the back of the net. From there, it was non-stop Collum. The dominant striker knocked in four goals, three of which came from assists created by Johnson, whose suggestion to play back at center mid for the second half rather than forward seemed to make all the difference. Collum's stellar performance granted her the privilege of being the Adairsville girls soccer program's all-time leading scorer, now with 107 goals.
This season Collum has scored a tremendous 40 goals, helping her grab eight hat tricks along with 14 assist.s The region player of the year will look to continue her success and help the Tigers take on Trion today at home.
