Syracuse Fashion Week is a semi-annual celebration of style and fashion in Downtown Syracuse. Gov't Mule is touring to celebrate the release of their acclaimed 10th studio album, Revolution Come... Revolution Go by Fantasy Records. Spanning rock, blues, soul, jazz and country, the album finds the band's finger directly on the pulse of our very divided political climate. The band began recording the album on Election Day 2016, and the songs continue to be more timely than ever, poignantly capturing the emotions felt by Americans, regardless of political affiliation. These lyrical observations are threaded together with a resounding message of unity.

Syracuse Crunch Playoff Games

It's officially playoff hockey time! The Syracuse Crunch will face off against the Rochester Americans in the first round of the 2018 Calder Cup Playoffs. The best-of-five series will begin in the War Memorial Arena this Friday and Saturday night. The Crunch will play in Rochester for games three and four (if necessary), and return to the War Memorial on Saturday, April 28 for game five (if necessary).

Local theater-goers will get their first chance to experience the very best of Schwartz's oeuvre when Rarely Done Productions brings the musical revue "Defying Gravity" to CNY Jazz Central. Named after Schwartz's signature song from Wicked and his recent biography, the show will feature all of Schwartz's songs from Godspell to Wicked.

Students are invited to spend their spring break at the MOST! Starting Monday, April 23, the MOST will offer five one-day science camps through Friday, April 27. Each day of camp will focus on a different theme, including: Coding & Robotics, Dino Dig, Potions Class (sold out), Experiments You Can Eat and Wilderness Survival Science. All camps are for children ages six through 12 and are limited to 20 campers per session. Students are encouraged to bring their own lunch.

Jerry Seinfeld is set to return to the Landmark Theatre stage on Friday, June 8th at 7:00 pm

Seinfeld has been hailed for his uncanny ability to joke about the little things in life that relate to audiences everywhere. His latest projects include the Emmy-nominated web series, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, and his Netflix special Jerry Before Seinfeld. Seinfeld continues to perform both nationally and internationally.

Alice in Chains

The Landmark Theatre will be one of the first stops for Alice in Chains during their first major North American tour of the year. Though their earliest origins lay in '80s-style glam metal, Alice in Chains became one of the signature bands - along with Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and Nirvana - associated with 
the 90s' Grunge movement.

Downtown Living Tour Preview: 239 East Water Street

PressRoom Pub Now Open

The PressRoom Pub is now open! Located at 220 Herald Place, the pub and restaurant is open Monday through Sunday from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. 

The decor at the PressRoom Pub pays homage to history and sports. The tables and bars are made from an old basketball court, and there are arcade games and a 21-foot shuffle board. The menu is crafted to read like a newspaper, paying tribute to the building's previous tenant, the Herald Journal. The "daily scoup" section will list the soups of the day, and the "weather report" will list that day's specials. The menu features classic pub fare, including pizza, wings, sandwiches and burgers, including the promised nine-ounce burger!

Request For Proposals: Art in the Windows Spring 2018
Applications will be accepted through Friday, May 11

Art in the Windows is a Downtown Syracuse retail promotion and public art program designed to activate and showcase available downtown retail opportunities through temporary installations of eye-catching artwork. The Downtown Committee of Syracuse is soliciting (1) local artists and art galleries to create site-specific installations; and (2) property owners and managers with available ground-floor space in Downtown Syracuse to host site-specific installations and/or displays in Spring 2018. Applications will be accepted through Friday, May 11, 2018.

Each selected artist or gallery will receive up to $750 per installation, provided on a reimbursement basis for eligible materials expenses. The funds may only be used to cover expenses related to the design and implementation of the project. Proper records and receipts will be required for reimbursement.

Participating property owners agree to donate rent-free retail space for the duration of the installation, and will receive a $25/month utility allowance for illuminating the artwork for the duration of the initial exhibition period.

The Copy Centers and The Sweet Praxis Among 20 Syracuse Emerging Leaders
Participants to learn strategic growth strategies

Congratulations to the Copy Centers and The Sweet Praxis! These two downtown businesses are part of 20 Upstate New York businesses that were selected to  participate in the U.S. Small Business Administration's (SBA) 2018 Emerging Leaders Program.  Over the course of seven months, participants will work with SBA mentors to develop a strategic growth plan and develop connections with community leaders and business owners. 

Previous downtown Emerging Leader graduates include the Events Company, Liehs & Steigerwald, Metro Fitness and Recess Coffee.
