SNACK POLICY
**Please Read letter below**
Parents,
Recently, we have allowed students to bring chips, candy, drinks, etc. to school to eat during their lunch period. Effective, Wedn esday, January 16, 2019 , students will no longer be able to bring any type of snacks to school unless it is with their lunch. At that point, they will ONLY be allowed to eat inside the cafeteria. Administration has decided to take this action for several reasons. Too many students are walking around the campus eating chips throughout the day and throwing their trash on the ground. We have spoken to students daily and asked them to dispose of their trash and to be careful with their drinks when inside the gymnasium after lunch. Many have not complied with our requests. We have placed several trash cans outside and inside the foyers to provide students with a place for their trash. Many will not use them. Our amazing auditorium is filled with trash each day after bus dismissal from students eating snacks. Aside from just not taking care of the campus by disposing their trash, the large amount of sugar intake each day is causing many students to be extremely hyper throughout the day.
Any students observed with snacks outside the cafeteria will be asked to surrender the snacks and at that point they will be properly disposed. If a student refuses to hand over their snacks, they will be sent home for refusal to abide by school policy. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this policy, please feel free to contact me at your earliest convenience.

Sincerely,

Dr. Darrell Webb, Principal

School Hours
Students may arrive on campus at 7:15 am
The first bell rings at 7:45 am
Instruction begins at 7:50 am
Tardy Bell rings at 7:55 am
Dismissal time 3:15 pm

Check-out ends at 2:45 pm
(NO EXCEPTIONS)

Our instructional day begins at 7:50 am daily. We have noticed a large number of students late each day. Please make a strong effort in having your child in class when the tardy bell rings at 7:55 am. We do understand traffic is backed up in the street some mornings, but each minute of instruction is critical to your child’s success. For example, if your child is 5 minutes late each day, that is equivalent to 25 minutes a week. Those 25 minutes accumulate to 225 minutes per nine weeks of lost instruction, which is 900 minutes of lost instruction per year. Over the course of a year, being 5 minutes late accumulates to missing 15 hours of instruction a year. Our students deserve every minute of quality instruction available. Please help us by making sure your child is here when instruction begins. Thank you
