Burundi youth take chastity commitment seriously
As I reflect on the beginning of 2019, UCE has much to be grateful for: most importantly the nearly 450,000 youth whose lives will be saved due to their commitments to chastity.
In God we have boasted all the day long. Your name we will praise forever. Ps 44:9
Thank you to everyone who kept us in prayer last month when UCE founding directors, Drs. Ken and Kim Dernovsek, and I visited the Burundi program. We had a safe and blessed trip. UCE there and elsewhere in Africa continues to be strong. Enjoy some Burundi trip highlights in this short 4-minute video.
We appreciate each of you who support UCE as volunteers, in prayer, and financially. UCE depends on you to spread this important, life-saving message. If you live in the Colorado area, we hope to see you at our upcoming events (see below). For those outside the area, please join us in spirit through your prayers.
In Christ,
Sarah Smith

UCE-Burundi Mission Trip
Last month, Drs Ken and Kim Dernovsek and I had the pleasure of visiting UCE Burundi. We thank Archbishop Martin Nyaboho and Rev. Onesiphore Ndayizigamiye and the entire UCE team for hosting us so well during our visit. Warm hospitality, bright colors, beautiful green scenery, scrumptious fresh fish, hardworking people, and underprivileged conditions are a few descriptors I would use to share about Burundi.
UCE Burundi teams with USA Directors
I enjoyed the opportunity to meet the UCE Burundi team and see them in action. During our visit, we attended two traditional UCE outreaches, two UCE Club skits, one UCE outreach on the radio, and witnessed 725 students signing chastity commitment cards! We also had productive UCE team meetings.
A highlight from the outreaches was at the end of our 1 hour UCE radio broadcast:
A man named Enoch called in to thank UCE for the message and say that from this moment forward, "I will now be faithful to my wife"! Dr Kim Dernovsek responded to him, and all the on-air listeners,
"while some have the opportunity to sign a UCE chastity card in person, the radio listeners can join Enoch and sign a card in their hearts"!
The English saying, "a picture shows 1,000 words" very much applies to this trip. I invite you to travel to UCE Burundi through this short, fun,
four minute Burundi video. No need to spend many hours in an airplane! All the music was recorded there as were the photos taken there during the trip. Enjoy a taste of UCE Burundi!
See you in Denver on March 20th!
