GREETINGS!

Registration opens online April 1 for summer day camps and tennis clinics. Cos Cob Preschool is accepting registration for the 2019-2020 school year. Registration continues on a limited basis for many spring programs such as swim lessons, T-ball, baseball, softball, soccer and skateboarding for youth and pickleball for adults. For residents in financial need, scholarships are available for youth programs; read more below. Our Civic Centers have many enjoyable activities, such as Drama Bee at Bendheim Western Greenwich Civic Center and the Chamber of Commerce Business Showcase at Eastern Greenwich Civic Center. Greenwich Community Gardens
Garden Plot Sign-up Days will be Saturday, March 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday, March 17 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.. New or returning gardeners interested in gardening at the award-winning Armstrong Court Community Garden or the Bible Street Community Garden, please come to the Cos Cob Firehouse, 2nd floor, at 200 East Putnam Ave., Cos Cob, to reserve your garden plot for 2019. Cos Cob Preschool

Registration is open for the Cos Cob Preschool 2019-2020 year. Classes are held Monday-Friday, and will operate for a longer day from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at 54 Bible Street in Cos Cob. The Preschool is licensed by the State of CT and is reasonably priced.
Kite Flying Festival

The Annual Kite Flying Festival will be held Saturday, April 27 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Greenwich Point Park beach. Read more. The event is hosted by Greenwich Parks and Recreation, the India Cultural Center of Greenwich and the Greenwich Arts Council.
Information is available on summer programs offered by Greenwich Recreation. Download our Summer Camps Brochure . You will find details for Kamp Kairphree for ages 5-12, Summer Adventurers for ages 8-15, and Music and Art Camp for children entering grades 4-9. Music and Art will have an afternoon Dance option in summer 2019! The "Big Three" day camps will each require a Camp Health Exam form to be completed. Get a jump on the registration process by taking care of the health exam form now.
You will also find details on Skatepark Ramp Camp, Swim Lessons, and Summer Soccer. Registration for most programs begins April 1. The BWGCC will be hosting Mad Science Summer Programs over three separate weeks.

Registration also begins April 1 online for Youth and Adult Tennis Clinic Instruction. Tennis instruction is held for ages four years through adult. Clinics are held Monday through Thursday. You can register for one or more weeks, from June 3-6 through July 29-Aug. 1.
Spring Swim Program
Begins March 16

Registration is on-going for our Spring Swim Program which will be held on 8 Saturdays at the Boys and Girls Club pool. Don't delay in registering as the program begins March 16. Lessons are for youth ages 4 and older. Ages 2-4 can participate in Parent-Child time in the water.
Greenwich Skatepark

The Greenwich Skatepark is scheduled to open March 16 and will be open weekends only through March from 12-6 p.m. Skateboard Clinics will be held for youth ages 6 through 12 beginning in April at the Skatepark located at the foot of Arch Street. Register for the FREE Spring Fever Skate Jam to be held April 6. We have Information on Summer Ramp Camps, too. For weather issues call 203-496-9876.
Spring Youth Soccer

Mighty Mites Spring Soccer will be held on Saturdays for boys and girls ages 3 through 9. This is a fun, recreational, co-ed program which will focus on the fundamentals of soccer including passing, dribbling, trapping, and shooting through skill work and modified games. Separate times are offered for age groups. Register online, by mail or in-person.

In cooperation with Soccer Extreme, we also offer soccer clinics on Saturdays for ages 9-12; on Mondays for ages 4-12; and on Fridays for ages 4-12.
Spring Youth Baseball
and Softball

Online registration, mail-in, and in-person registration is open for several spring sports for youth. Co-ed T-ball is for ages 4 and 5; Small Fry I Baseball is for age 6 and Small Fry II Baseball is for age 7.

For girls ages 7 and 8, we offer Junior Softball. Junior Baseball is available for ages 8 and 9. Girls ages 9-14 can participate in our Babe Ruth Softball league. Register early to secure a spot!

Adult Sports

Information is available for spring pickleball. Indoor Pickleball will be held at the EGCC. You can register for one or two days per week. BWGCC offers pickleball on a drop-in basis several days per week. See the BWGCC section below. Also, Outdoor Pickleball will be held on the courts at Loughlin Avenue Park, which are marked for tennis and pickleball.

National Alliance for Youth Sports

Greenwich Recreation is a member organization of NAYS. We provide free training through the NAYS website to our staff and volunteers and any resident interested in learning how to make sports better for youth. Scholarships for Youth

The Parks and Recreation Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to income eligible resident families for participation in youth activities. Scholarship applications must be submitted a minimum of 3 weeks prior to the start of the program.
Eastern Greenwich Civic Center

The EGCC has several on-going programs including Greenwich Archery, Green Moon Children's Art Studio, Wednesday Painters, fitness classes, and Friday night roller skating. Roller skating will be held March 22 and 29 from 7:00 - 9:30 p.m. Admission is $10:00 and includes skates. Call 203-637-4583 for open gym hours.

Bendheim Western Civic Center

DramaBee is offering theatrical fun for preschool and Kindergarten age children. Jack Rabbits Gymnastics has spring programs for toddlers. SEW HAPPY is offering a youth sewing machine school this spring. Youth Golf Clinics will be held in the spring; registration begins March 4. The Dance Pointe has many programs on-going throughout the year.

Co-ed Adult Volleyball is available on a drop-in basis on Thursday evenings from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Yoga classes and Zumba classes are offered on several weekdays at varying times. Boot Camp sessions are available Tuesdays and Thursdays. Pickleball is offered for adults on a drop-in basis at different times on Tues., Fri, and Wed.

Greenwich Education Group Private Day & Boarding School Fair
Greenwich Education Group will host its tenth annual Private Day & Boarding School Fair on Tuesday, May 14, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the Eastern Greenwich Civic Center in Old Greenwich. The fair is free, open to the public, and serves to acquaint families with top-ranked independent day and boarding schools from throughout the United States and Canada. Representatives from more than 100 schools will be on hand to engage with prospective students and their families.  Proceeds from the fair will benefit the Town of Greenwich Department of Parks and Recreation Scholarship Fund, which provides low-income families with access to summer camp and sports programs. Special Recreation

The Stamford JCC offers many inclusive programs throughout the year. The JCC welcomes all! Call 203-487-0946 to register.

Abilis meets the needs of people with developmental disabilities. Their events are posted on their website calendar.

Greenwich Special Olympics offers sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual or physical challenges.

Griffith E. Harris Golf Course

The Greenwich Women's Golf Club (GWGC) is a fun group of women who enjoy playing golf, many of whom work or need flexibility when they play. They have tournaments at the Griff on Thursday mornings, but you can also participate in the tournaments by playing with another member on other days of the week (except Tuesday). They have players of all ability levels. If you can play the Griff in 125 strokes or less, they would love to have you join! You don’t even have to be a Greenwich resident!

Credit & Refund Policy

Credit requests for recreation program registration will be considered if received in writing prior to the start of the program. There is a $15.00 administrative fee for credits. The general policy of the Recreation Division is that we do not process refunds unless a program has been cancelled. Please read all registration information carefully and contact us prior to registering for a program if you have any questions.
Parks and Recreation Foundation
The Greenwich Parks and Recreation Foundation was set up to receive donations, allowing the community citizens and businesses an avenue to donate to the Town of Greenwich Parks & Recreation projects and programs. The foundation is a 509 (a)(1).
Through the Parks & Recreation Foundation, one is able to donate to the Parks and Recreation Scholarship Fund.

Information regarding cancellations and closures is also posted on our Recreation Sports Website, where you can also sign up to get text alerts and /or emails notifying you of changes. The Parks and Recreation Office at Town Hall is generally open for business hours on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For information on park, beach, and tennis passes, click here.
