  • At the end of the rainbow, instead of a pot of gold you'll find a pot of chili. Taste a sample of the chili we make for A Just Harvest!

  • A bake sale featuring Irish baked goods to benefit A Just Harvest.
  • Irish dance lessons from parishioner Nora Reder!
  • St. Patrick's day crafts.

Presiding Bishop Michael Curry is inviting churches around the world to prepare for  Easter by reflecting on seven practices that guide a life of discipleship in today's world.
 
Children and Youth are invited to come to the Youth Room for a corresponding Way of Love program. The Nursery will be open all evening.

 
We begin with Compline at 6PM, followed by supper at 6:15PM in the McClain room and the program portion of the evening from 7:00-7:45PM in the Lea Room. 
Inquiring Minds Want to Know - Continues March 17-April 28
Would you like to learn more about the Episcopal Church? Here is something just for you! This series continues today. All classes will be taught by Christopher and will be held on Sundays, 4:00-5:15PM at the church (784 Sheridan Rd.) Future dates are Apr. 7, Apr.14 and Apr. 28. As part of the class, we will be using the book A People Called Episcopalians, but you do not have to purchase the book, we will have copies available.
 
After the completion of the class, any participants who wish to do so may be confirmed or received into the Episcopal Church at Confirmation on May 7 at 7:30PM at Christ Church. Please register for the class with Charlotte McGee in the church office (847-446-2850) or [email protected]. 
Childcare is available. If you need childcare, please let Charlotte know when you sign up.  
Evensong & Supper
5:30PM this Sunday
Please join us at 5:30PM on Sunday, March 17 for a beautiful Evensong and delicious supper to celebrate St. Patrick's weekend. The service will feature our Youth and Adult Choirs singing music associated with St. Patrick, including an anthem by Richard Clemmitt titled "May the Living Christ Be With You." Afterward, please stay for an Irish-themed supper featuring a main dish provided by parishioner and authority on Irish cooking, Mary Jo McMillin. We'd love to have you with us! Wear your green!
Lent Passports Being Issued!
B e sure to pick up a Lent Passport (on the Welcome Table in the church by the  windows) so that you can journey through Lent with Christ Church! Designed for children but really for anyone, this has lots of handy information on everything there is to do at church during Lent and Holy Week! And, you get a sticker for each event or service that you attend! Lenten travelers can find the stickers on the Welcome table.  
Creative Dance Spring Session
Our spring session starts April 1! We meet on Mondays, 4:45-5:45PM in the Guild Room at 470 Maple Street.  
 
Once again the session will run for eight weeks, going through May 20. Professional dance teacher and fellow parishioner Amanda MacDonald is our fabulous instructor. Our springtime theme is Movies & Musicals! Come join us and bring a friend too. We have several dancers from the wider community.

Youth & Children's News 
Donate to AJH Bake Sale on Sunday
The youth are having a Bake Sale on Sunday, March 17 to raise money for A Just Harvest. If you are able to bring cookies or some other sweet we can sell, please let Megan Miller know.
Cook Chili for A Just Harvest: Sunday, April 7
Middle and high school youth will cook a pan of chili on Sunday, April 7 from 10:40-11:30AM in the McClain Room kitchen at 784 Sheridan Road, Winnetka, IL. We hope you will join us and bring a friend - and an ingredient! To bring a chili ingredient, use the Sign-Up Genius or email Megan Miller. The youth in our Confirmation program will bring the chili and Wish List Items down with them to A Just Harvest when they volunteer on Tuesday, April 9.
Glow Golf rescheduled for Saturday, April 13
On Saturday, April 13 from 3-6PM, all middle and high school youth and their families are invited to join us for an afternoon of fun at Glow Golf in Vernon Hills. We will play glow-in-the-dark mini golf and laser tag and eat pizza from Rosati's. Meet in the parking lot of the Parish House at 470 Maple Street at 2:45PM. Please let Megan Miller  know if you can join us, need a ride, can give a ride, or are willing to be an adult chaperone. The suggested donation is $20 per youth. Please bring a friend and/or family members!

Grow in Faith & Friendship: Register for this  
summer's Youth Mission Trip!
This summer the youth are going on the road to be of service in the city of Detroit! If you will be starting 7th- 12th grade in the fall of 2019, we need YOU! Please register using the form on our website. 
 
When : Saturday, June 15 - Saturday, June 22, 2019
Where : Detroit, MI
What : Direct Service through Children's Camps and/or Food Kitchens & Greening and Light Construction to Clean Up the Streets of Detroit
Who : Anyone starting 7th grade in the fall or older. 
Reduced Registration Fee: $795
