Assisting local Chinese Children's Welfare Institutes by providing pre and post-surgical care to abandoned Chinese orphan babies born with surgically correctable deformities. Shanghai Healing Home provides a home-like environment that meets not only the babies' physical needs but also their emotional and developmental needs.

The Shanghai Healing Home is funded 100% by the generous donations of our sponsors and one-time donors. We are very grateful to accept monetary or in-kind donations of any amount and form. A list of in-kind needs can be found on our website. Below are suggested sponsorship plans if you or a group of your friends would like to fully sponsor the cost of one baby's daily expenses.

How Can I Help?

Many people are asking us lately, "what can I do to help?". Right now, SHH is in need of new Baby Sponsorships. To date, we have a total of 16 fully sponsored babies and another 9 needing sponsorship. Baby sponsorships are a huge part of being able to pay the monthly expenses and care for the children. Even before we can pay for their medical needs and surgeries, we need to be able to pay for their daily needs in the home.

最近有很多人问我们，"我能帮到你们什么？"而现在，上海医治之家的宝贝们非常需要大家的帮助。目前为止，我们有16个全额赞助的孩子，还有9个孩子需要大家资助。在这个资助中，有很大一部分是给孩子提供每个月需要的费用和关怀。所以在我们支付孩子的医疗费用之前，我们需先提供给孩子日常用品。

All orientation meetings are cancelled until after December 13th!!!

Orientation meeting attendance is required for all first time visitors. Meetings are offered in Chinese and English.

This past summer at SHH, we had the privilege of getting to host a couple of kids from a partnering orphanage in Guangdong. While they were with us, we were blessed to be able to find a Forever Family for one of the kids. We will miss you, Luo JJ, but we are so excited that you found your Forever Family!

去年夏天在新生命之家，我们有幸在广东的一家合作孤儿院接待了几个孩子。当他们和我们在一起时，我们很幸运能够为其中一个孩子找到一个永久家庭。我们会想你Luo JJ，但我们很高兴你找到了你的永久家庭！

We were also surprised this month to find out that our little Liang XQ has already found and been able to join her Forever Family! We sure are going to miss all of her silly faces!我们非常惊喜地发现这个月小 Liang XQ已经找到了她的永久家庭！我们肯定会开始想念她的傻憨的表情啦！

Our Caleb just turned 7 years old. He was born with a medical condition called arthrogryposis which basically causes multiple joint deformities in his arms and legs. Caleb was 4 years old when he came to SHH and since that time he has had 6 different surgeries on his arms and legs. Now, with the help of his leg braces, he is able to walk and go up and down the stairs on his own. He enjoys going outside and kicking a soccer ball and going down the slide. The last surgery he had helped to straighten his wrist allowing him to be able to do more with his hands like feed himself and write. Despite his physical limits, Caleb does not let that get him down or stop him from trying to function independently. He is a very smart boy...he attends English and Chinese classes and is able to communicate well in both languages.

Volunteer highlights

In November, several of our older kids were treated to a day at Disney by some of our SHH Volunteers! Despite the rainy weather, the kids had a blast riding the rides, watching the shows, and meeting Mickey. We want to say a big "thank you" to the volunteers who made this possible!
11月，我们新生命之家的部分志愿者为我们选择了几个年龄较大的孩子去迪士尼度过了一天！尽管天气阴雨，孩子们还是乘坐游乐设施，观看演出，并见到了米奇。我们想对那些使这成为可能的志愿者说一句"感谢你们"！

Medical Need

医疗需求

Our little Liang XY was recently hospitalized due to a stomach virus. While in the hospital he was given IV fluids and nausea medicine to stop his vomiting and prevent dehydration. The good news is that he had a consultation with GI doctors who were able to refer him to have surgery for the placement of a more long-term feeding tube.

Liang XY has been transferred to another hospital for the surgery. The estimated costs of his hospitalization is around 20,000 RMB (approx. $2,880 USD). Please pray for his surgery and recovery and consider donating towards his hospital expenses.

我们的梁XY最近因胃病而入院治疗。在医院里，他注射了静脉输液和恶心药，以阻止他的呕吐，防止脱水。好消息是，我们与他的肠胃医生进行了咨询，医生们能够让他接受手术，以便放置更长期的喂食管。

梁XY已被转移到另一家医院准备进行手术。他住院的估计费用约为20,000元人民币（约合2,880美元）。请为他的手术和康复祷告，并考虑捐赠他的医疗费用。

Reminder to our volunteers

志愿者提示

Winter is almost here and with it comes the dreaded cold and flu season. The staff at SHH would like to remind individuals and groups to be especially careful when visiting the Home during the cold and flu season. Please double check on the day of your visit that no one in your group is sick...even if someone is not running a fever but has a cough, congestion/runny nose, or sore throat we would ask that that individual not visit the Home because if one of our kids gets sick they will all get sick. At SHH we have to be even more cautious with our kids then you might be with a healthy child because many of our children have weakened immune systems because of their medical problem. So it is easier for our children to get really sick and end up in the hospital or ICU just because they get a cold or the flu.

Lots of hand washing is especially important to protect our children and yourself from infection. Please be sure to use the alcohol hand sanitizer or soap & water when cleaning your hands. There also may be some extra restrictions for playing with the children when you visit depending on the health condition of our children the time of your visit so please check with us before going into the playrooms.

冬天就要到了，伴随着可怕的感冒和流感季节。新生命之家的工作人员想提醒个人和团体在感冒和流感季节访问新生命之家时请格外留心。请在您的访问当天仔细检查您的团队中是否有人生病......即使有人没有发烧但有咳嗽，充血/流鼻涕或喉咙痛，我们会要求该人暂时不要访问新生命之家，因为如果我们中的一个孩子生病，其余孩子也会生病。在新生命之家，我们要对我们的孩子更加谨慎。您的家中可能会有一个非常健康的孩子，然而新生命之家的许多孩子因为他们的医治问题而免疫系统减弱。因此，我们的孩子更容易生病，哪怕只是因为感冒或流感也可能最终会住进医院或ICU。

频繁洗手对于保护我们的孩子和自己免受感染尤为重要。清洁双手时，请务必使用酒精洗手液或肥皂水。根据我们孩子们的健康状况，您在访问时可能会有一些额外的限制与孩子一起玩，所以请在进入游戏室之前与我们联系。
