As parking is limited, we encourage you to carpool to our dance. In the event of inclement weather, a decision will be made by 2 pm and we will post on our public

The 2018-2019 Board of Directors met for the first time in early April, with the following Officers elected for the coming year:

The Board of Directors is also assisted by a trusty stable of volunteer "Helpers" who help to make for less work all around for each person. Thank you ALL for your service and dedication to the CSDS membership and dance community; we would not exist without you!!

Kristin's Group Classes in May
Kristin Wenger's next session (4 weeks) of group classes start on Tuesday, May 1st Nightclub 2-Step Advanced is from 6:00-7:30 pm, and West Coast Swing New Moves (must know basics inc. whip) is from 7:30-9:00 pm. Classes are held at the
Murray High School gym, where CSDS'
Swing Swap (free!) also takes place on Thursday nights. You can register online
here; please note that pre-registration is required and Kristin cannot accept payment in person/class.

The Last Stacy's Jam & New 2nd Saturday Westie Dances!
The last Stacy's Jam brought together many dancers from Central Virginia including some of the "old gang" from the Maxx and Fry's Springs days! What a fun evening it was and a nice way to retire Stacy's Jams.

During announcements, Stacy let everyone know that Smooth Sailing Ballroom owners Adam and Alexis Reed Mehring will be carrying on the dance torch with their 2nd Saturday Swing (Westie) dances! You may remember Smooth Sailing hosted their first Westie dance and Drills Intensive with Eddie + Adela, in February, with a fabulous turnout. We love that they have embraced West Coast Swing and look forward to their 2nd Saturday dances: May 12th with Kristin Wenger, and June 9th with Eddie + Adela, for starts.
Over in the McIntire Business Park, Blue Light Ballroom will also be hosting regular 2nd Saturday "Remix" Dances! Each month's dance will have a different dance theme. Their April dance was a "club party" theme with Nightclub 2 Step as the focus; future dances will be things like a California Mixer or a Salsa night. Each "Remix Party" is going to be a bit different to appeal to everyone!

Farewell, JeAnne!
CSDS member JeAnne Frey recently moved from Charlottesville to Texas! Some of us got together last month at
Stinson Vineyards, owned by CSDS members Scott and Martha Stinson, to enjoy an afternoon of good wine, views and friendship.
Farewell, JeAnne, we shall miss you and wish you the best of luck, good health and happiness in your new Texas home! <3

And reserve your hotel room ASAP as the event hotels usually sell out well in advance; you can always cancel it later. Don't wait until you decide to go to book your room; it will be too late!
