This class gives you the opportunity to play with others and hone your skills. This is a more advanced class, but some instruction is available. It's always good to be able to practice with others.

PAINTING THE FULL WORM MOON: NOCTURNE PAINTING EN PLEIN AIR 
Local master Thomas Van Stein takes you on a moonlit journey over the course of three days in this workshop. Learn techniques of painting nocturnes en plein air and develop skills to control values in low light situations. Learn the principles of capturing chiaroscuro and timeless night light on canvas.  Oils, acrylics, and pastels are acceptable.  Portable night lighting will be provided.

STONE WRAPPING TECHNIQUES FOR BEGINNERS
Join master craft artist Paula Gregoire-Jones and make amazing wire-wrapped pendants using your favorite beach stones, sea glass or crystals.  Using round or square wire, explore two or more methods of wrapping stones.  This method is not only creative but also an easy way to explore wire-wrapping methods.  Come experience this wonderful medium.  No previous wire-wrapping experience is required.  All materials will be provided, but you may bring your own stones to wrap.

BOTANICAL DYEING
Using nature's flowers and leaves, you will steam print a silk scarf using a bundle dyeing process.  It is an enjoyable artistic process and everyone will leave with a beautiful hand-dyed scarf.  Materials provided.

INTERMEDIATE STONE WRAPPING TECHNIQUES USING CABOCHONS 
Join master craft artist Paula Gregoire-Jones and learn to make beautiful wire-wrapped pendants from cabochons, shells, coins or flat objects. Make a frame for your cabochon or other object with square wire and half round wire, and then learn how to shape the wires to make your own unique pendant. This method is not only creative but gives you the opportunity to explore the next level in wire wrapping methods. Recommended to have either taken the Beginning Stone Wrapping class or have some wire-working experience. All materials will be provided, but you may bring your own cabochons to wrap.

SPLASH INTO WATERCOLOR: UNDERPAINTING FOR PASTELS 

Join Paula Brown and Learn the basics of watercolor underpainting to create a foundation for beautiful pastel paintings.  Understand watercolor media concepts and techniques and the value of "values" that set the stage for beautiful pastels.  Workshop will include a demo and personal guidance as you create your own 8x10" watercolor underpainting and begin pastel application from a provided photo source or a favorite photo you bring to class.  Supply list will be sent upon registration.
