 COALITION UPDATE: NEW MODEL, SAME GOAL!
After uncertainty about the future of the STEP Coalition, we're thrilled to share that it will live on! The Coalition's Steering Committee will essentially act as the new "backbone," taking on the logistical and foundational support needed to sustain the Coalition.
 
With this transition, you might wonder what will change and what will stay the same. Here's what you can expect:
 
SAME
  • The name, logo, and colors will remain the same -- we are still Collective STEP For Youth, and we are all still committed to adolescent wellbeing!
  • The Coalition will continue to provide networking and education.
  • The Collaboration and/or Grants Work Group will focus on obtaining funding to sustain the Coalition, and the Professional Development Work Group will focus on ensuring professionals working with youth continue to strengthen their skills to enhance adolescent wellbeing in Maricopa County.
  • The goals of capacity-building, collaboration, and fostering a strong community network remain the same.
NEW
  • The Steering Committee will lead the Coalition.
  • The addition of a Hospitality Work Group to continue on-boarding new members as well as a Communications Work Group to disseminate Coalition communications.
  • Coalition members will see requests to volunteer in some way, big or small, to support the Steering Committee in keeping the Coalition moving.

Farewell to Tracy Pedrotti after 11 years with Maricopa County Department of Public Health (MCDPH)! 

Tracy Pedrotti has over a decade of experience in adolescent-centered services and a passion for enhancing the health and wellbeing of youth. As Program Manager, she  launched Collective STEP for Youth while working for MCDPH and in three short years, STEP built a reputation for high-quality technical assistance, professional development, and collaboration among youth-serving professionals. Throughout her career, Tracy has been dedicated to supporting youth and the professionals working with them to ensure confidence and competence in youth-centered services. She will now be joining Arizona Family Health Partnership to develop a program focused on building the capacity of health centers to improve adolescent health care.  MCDPH thanks her for her dedication to protecting and promoting the health and wellbeing of Maricopa County residents and surrounding communities. We wish her success and happiness as she begins this new chapter in her life!

OPPORTUNITIES
Maricopa County Department of Public Health  (MCDPH), is seeking proposals from qualified organizations to provide two (2) Tuberculosis  Airborne Infection Isolation (AII) rooms  and related respite health care to its clients on an as-needed basis. The  AII rooms must adhere with the minimum standards contained in the publication issued by the Center for Disease Control (CDC),  Guidelines for Preventing the Transmission of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in Health-Care Settings, 2005 which can be accessed  here . Interested candidates must submit their response  here in order to be reviewed. Electronic proposals will received until 2:00pm Arizona time on April 26, 2018. Paper submissions will not be accepted.

Mathematica's Center for Studying Disability Policy will host a live webinar that will explore the impact of new policy changes. The webinar will highlight effective experience on issues related to transition, VR, and employment for people with disabilities. Learn more here.
