Wilson Theater Company Presents
Urinetown: The Musical
The Wilson Theater Company is excited to present the  Tony Award winning social satire
URINETOWN: THE MUSICAL . Shows will be held April 26, 27 & 28 at 7:30 pm.

Urinetown  is an earnest fable of love, greed and revolution, set in a town plagued by drought.  A simple enough plot, complete with a villain, hero, and romance.  A malevolent corporation controls the town 's public amenities and the president's daughter falls for the leader of a "pee-for-free" rebellion.  All of this according to Little Sally, the shows ragamuffin philosopher, is a bad subject for a musical (so is the title!), but it is outrageously funny!  The show spoofs the great American Musical and will get the audience doing more than passively sitting in their seats. It will get them laughing, get them groaning, get them thinking.  Do yourself a favor, and go see Urinetown For tickets, visit www.wilsontheater.org.
To review more details about the show, you can review the Stage Notes .

4th Annual Elementary Reading Olympics

Learn To Swim Program
The Wilson School District is excited to announce our new Learn to Swim Program.  This program is being piloted this spring with our Spring Ridge students with a full roll out planned for all second grade Wilson elementary school students during the 2018 -2019 school year.  The Learn to Swim Program is designed to teach second grade students basic water skills and safety. Students will spend one hour per week for six weeks at the Wilson High School pool. The goal of this program is to develop water safety among children, especially given the statistics that drownings are the second leading cause of unintentional injury-related death to children ages 1 through 14 according to the National Kids Campaign. It is the goal of the Wilson School District to teach swimming to our second grade students and have them feel safe in deep waters!  The early response to this program has been very positive and we are excited to see it expand during the next school year!
