MRSI Systems continues to expand with the addition of Yi Qian who has joined MRSI Systems as a Vice President of Product Management.
Yi has more than 15 years of extensive leadership experience in optoelectronics technologies and device/equipment businesses for optical communications, medical devices, defense/aerospace, and industrial applications. Most recently he was Director of Product Management and Marketing in GSI Group for Cambridge Technology business unit that makes high precision and high speed laser scanning optics for industrial and medical applications. Previously, he has held senior leadership positions in product management and engineering with Oclaro and Corning/Lasertron for lasers and optical 40G/100G transceiver business. He also led one startup making software-controlled 3D optical scanning systems for defense/aerospace, industrial, and dental applications, which was acquired by Danaher. Yi obtained a Ph.D. in Physics from the Institute of Semiconductors, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Zhejiang University. He spent two years at Cornell University for postdoctoral research on advanced lasers and nanofabrication.
