A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Hello Garfield Families and Friends
Hope you all had a wonderful holiday season filled with love, family, friends, and happiness. Students will be taking our universal screener known as STAR beginning the 2nd week of January. This assessment is given 3 times in a school year. The STAR assessment is a tool for teachers to use to help determine areas to best support student learning.  Watch for a letter to come home by the end of January that will share your child's results. Unlike the test in the fall, the winter assessment will also show student growth. We are striving for every student to be at or above a 60 SGP (student growth percentile).  If you should have any questions about the results, contact your child's teacher.

Wishing you all a safe, healthy, amazing 2019!

Ms. Cassandra Schultz
Principal
